why?

maybe they see a TE in him, cant believe that this guy will take a rep away from chad, thigpen, white or even henne
-
Think its just to personally scout some guys they are intrigued by. no way he sticks. but if you get injuries to your QBs you may want a cheap 3rd stringer
-
If it were the Oakland Raiders it would be safe to say that Al Davis genuinely thinks it's Tommy Brady.

That's a big boy... But I do think it's a good idea to bring in another qb... Henne has not started 16 games in a season yet, we don't want to wear his arm down too early here in TC... Pennington, we all know the story with the shoulder problems, Thigpen and then White (who was MIA yesterday)... that's a fairly thin qb group for training camp purposes when you take into account all those factors

-
You typically have four arms in camp.
We carry three. If one were to go down, it's nice if the 4th guy is already immersed in the offense.
Don't read too much more into it. -

here is his pro day report from 2008

Grady left OU shortly before the 2005 season, bowing out of a quarterback race with Rhett Bomar and Paul Thompson. He transferred to Utah, where he redshirted a year, then, after a coaching change, mostly rode the bench. But he played enough for NFL scouts to want a closer look.
On Monday he worked out for 13 scouts at Utah; on Tuesday more than 20 teams (roughly 60 scouts) saw him. OU coach Bob Stoops welcomed Grady back.
"We didn't have a quarterback to throw (for pass receiving drills), so that worked out good," Stoops said. "Tommy asked to come back and do some things, so it worked out good for him and for us."
At OU, Grady was 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds. Now he's 6-6 and 245, with bulging muscles. Almost all his passes were virtually perfect.
"Tommy's got an arm on him," said running back Allen Patrick. "He came out here and threw some pretty good balls today."
Grady said he immediately doubted his decision to leave OU -- particularly in light of OU's quarterback situations the last three preseasons.
"I regret leaving this place," he said. "Like
coach (Chuck) Long said, it's not always greener on the other side. I was looking forward to leaving, but when I left, I was wishing I had stayed here.
"I think I could have stuck it out. Coach Long was kind of telling me that, because they had Paul and Rhett at the time, he told me I wasn't going to be able to compete in the fall. So I thought Rhett was going to come in and do a good job. He did good, but he had his thing going on. I regret leaving, but I try not to look back too much."

See other thread. Pat White in danger of missing entire season; will miss camp. He's not taking away anyone's reps. He's taking up White's.

Or could it be the kid is 6' 6" 245 and has a rocket arm who lit up the arena league like Kurt Warner did. Doesn't hurt to check.

This organization really leaves no stone unturned. From the CFL to the AFL we're nationwide in our scouting -
I like this. dude is 6-6 , 6-7 sopposedly has an arm and since he played in he AFL he can make quick decisions. i hope he gets signed then we can drop whites bum a$$, trade Thigpen(i like thigpen) keep penny and make this guy a solid NFL QB. I see this as a possibhle upgrade

Good. Now go after Andy Ross and Les Walker. Perhaps even Gerrard Nayo.

Carp lost his touch. Maybe we can bring that kid Adam Vandelari to light a fire under him.
