Via Packers beat write Bob McGinn

Don't know much about him other than what I saw on Twitter. He's been with the Packers for a while, and has been their offensive coordinator since 2007, but he doesn't call the plays.

I like the Interview. Does he call his own plays? or some fans like him due to the fact he is with GreenBay?

Oh and before he became OC, he was Green Bay's offensive line coach...:shifty:

I hope hiring Philbin as HC is a prelude to signing Matt Flynn and maybe even bringing in Tom Clements in some capacity...OC?

New HCs love to pluck from their former team players they are familiar with. If we are going to pluck from a team I think Green Bay is a pretty good team to pluck from. Signing Flynn is the best move Miami could make this off season imo.

Would be interesting to see if Daboll stays or goes to hire someone to install the wco Flynn is familiar with.

He seems like the only hope to bring something to the team besides just being a rah-rah coach...That said, I don't know a thing about him.

If he's even seen "Gladiator", then I reserve the right to about face.

Pretty sure McCarthy calls all of the plays and I believe Rodgers called the plays against the Lions. May have just benefited from talent and situation. Not sure of his coaching history or tree.

By far my least favorite candidate to date, bar none, would rather keep Todd Bowles.

Basically, he runs the scout team, that is his practical duty with GB.

I cannot think of a less inspiring choice.

Packers offense has been Top 10 every year he's been OC...he has to be some reason for that, right? (Trying to comfort myself just in case.)

Philbin seems like a hybrid of Cameron and Sparano.

They were good before him too. The some reason is Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.
