Miami, New York and Los Angeles, according to MediaPost.com. The broadcast is a part of Hispanic Heritage Month and will be the first time Telemundo, the second-largest Spanish-language content producer in the world, provides its own coverage of a football game.
Telemundo will use NBC’s feed of the game, but Jessi Losada, Rene Girardo and Edgar Lopez will call the game.
“We are committed to delivering NFL content to our Hispanic fans and have an extensive reach in both English and Spanish through multiple platforms such as TV, radio, online and in print,” commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement.
The NFL has targeted the Hispanic market for several years — the 49ers and Cardinals played a 2005 game in Mexico City, and the NFL teamed up with TV channel Univision to create NFLatino.com. It has led to a popularity boom for Hispanic fans, with the league seeing an increase of 1.1 million Hispanic television viewers from last year, according to MediaPost, a 31 percent increase.
