Pead did earn that shot, in my opinion.

Definitely like seeing this. Reward on field performance. Dude has made some big plays. Let's see if he can do it against stiffer competition

He's earned a shot, looking forward to seeing if he's got it or not.

he is the best back of the preseason so far...no politics, no agenda. flat-out earned it

Former 2nd round pick who was labeled a bust...or maybe he was just stuck on a dysfunctional offense. But this is the kind of guy I prefer to take a chance on (he was drafted as if he was very talented, so maybe we'll see that guy).
I don't know. But Pead getting reps with the 1s is kind of a bad sign, imo, just means Foster and Ajayi aren't that good. The way we've stocked and utilized the backfield behind Tannehill just infuriates me. So many corners cut when there are repeated examples of young QBs benefitting immensely from having stud RBs to lean on.Pandarilla likes this. -
If he is a gift horse; then don't look him in the mouth. Take it and run and hide. One less hole to fill.FasanoPaisano and Fin D like this. -
I hear what you are saying here, but Pead has looked really good. I like the idea of a player getting some reps with first team to see what they can do.Pandarilla likes this. -
Heard Pead has been a beasts in practice as well. Any first hand confirmation of this?

Ajayi scares me, especially in the pass game. I picture footballs bouncing off his shoulder pads being returned the other way.
We deserve to have some cheap, young out-of-blue talent help us. That is the key to ay team's successFasanoPaisano, Agua and dolphin25 like this. -
So far, they haven't really committed to any type of running game, except for later in the game, foster and Ajayi have 10 carries between them, Daniel Thomas, who hasn't played with the 1s and is likely not making the team, has 17 carries.
Conversely, QB17 has 24 att, while all 3 of the other qbs have 35 att combined, so with the 1s, it's been Dolphins football as usual, run, pass, pass.
I was expecting Gase to be more focused on the running game, but it seems to be an after thought so far, so whoever they are playing at RB with the 1s, I'd like to see a concerted effort to get some running going.
Pead has earned a chance, maybe, as a 5th year RB with only 78 yards, Pead has seen the writing on the wall and it has motivated him, so give him the rock and see what happens.FasanoPaisano, Pandarilla and dolphin25 like this. -

Matthews I thought was a beast when I first saw him play for the Dolphins, but he is a good list. Just wish he had not gotten injured. I have not seen how he is doing with his new team. -
We have to remember, he was a failed UDFA with the Giants.dolphin25 likes this. -
Well Pead has earned his shot at it tonight. As far as Ajayi and Foster goes, I think it's been a bigger indictment of our run blocking but we'll see tonight.
-
Matthews was a 7th round pick.
If you are considering Jay Ajayi and Yerimiah Bell to be your mold both Charles Clay and Rashad Jones would also fit the bill.Finster likes this. -
i'm so out of the loop I had to google the kid to see who the F he was.

It was funny watching Omar tweet about how Kenyan Drake is improving his pass protection, posting photos of it, and then having Kenyan Drake jump on Twitter and be like "I'm not #22 bruh".
#22 is Isaiah Pead.FasanoPaisano and Pandarilla like this. -
Bell was also injured, and probably would have went higher if he was not injured.
