If I had to choose between the two of them (especially at that time), then absolutely I pick Ginn. Using hindsight though, maybe I would have gone with Willis, but I am in no way disappointed in Ginn as a player.

 

Ginn vs. Quinn straight-up? Ginn by a nose.

Ginn vs. Quinn, with Henne developing nicely on our bench? Ginn by a MILE.

Ginn over Quinn:

At that time, Quinn, you don't pass up on a franchise QB.
Right now, Ginn was the better pick because he's our only homerun hitter, a player that put fear in defenses.

 

Yeah neither, Pat Willis hands down. But between the two i think its pretty even, although Ginn has had more opportunity and more production, but IMO Quinn played pretty good in his small window and the QB position is more important and harder to find a bona fide starter long term, although Quinn has not proved he is that yet. Ginn hasn't hit his ceiling yet either. Even between those two.

All moot point though, Pat Willis is one of hte most dominant players in that entire draft class.

 

I wanted Quinn at the time, Ginn has shown more than Quinn has in his career.

Jury's still out though, assuming he doesnt get hurt, 09 will be huge for Ginn.

 

It's easy to say "Patrick Willis", but that's simply saying, with 20/20 hindsight, you'd take the #1 player in the draft (as it turns out) available at #9 overall.
That's not really an interesting debate. Who wouldn't do that.
