Ricky Williams - 9 seasons
Yeremiah Bell - 7
Vern Carey - 7
Ronnie Brown - 6
Channing Crowder - 6
Jason Allen - 5
Will Allen - 5
Everybody else on the roster has been with the team 4 years or less. That's some serious turnover.

ricky hasn't been with the team for 9 seasons, its been only 6 and thats including the year where he only played in one game because he was injured.

I've always been fond of Ricky. Very glad that he is still a part of the team. I hope he stays another 3 years.
-
While there's been huge turnover, It's hard to argue with keeping all those players around. And I can't think of many that we let go of that I'd have traded for those guys

Well, he retired for one year (2004), was suspended for one year (2006) and returned for one game in (Nov. 2007) then injured for the rest of the season ?? Somehow that doesn't add up to 9 seasons with the Fins...
EDIT: Sorry Finsarelife, fat fingers...this reply meant for Gardenhead...but you got the point already...LOLFinsAreLife likes this. -

Jason Allen seems like he's been here forever. I'm tellin' y'all he could solve our safety issue.

I hope it's not too late for him to establish himself here, but time is growing slim for him... -

Training camp has not even started for 2010 so be careful not to jinx him.
He's played 5 seasons here and one in toronto in 2006. -
Wasnt he still under contract the whole time?

he played elsewhere in 2006. His tenure is tainted by suspensions and missed seasons. He played 5 seasons and was injured for one.... -
They count 2007. It was one game, he had a few carries before he was stepped on.
2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 -6. And it seems they count 2006, while he was suspended he was technically still a member of the Dolphins even though he didn't play at all.
Technicality doesn't matter though, we've been following him since 2002! -

Maybe it would be easier to go by years as a Miami Dolphin ;p
-
Maybe Ronnie if he didn't have his injury history. Only other maybe would be Vern Carey but even if he was 2 or 3 years younger I doubt another would give up a high pick for him.
Still a year or two away from SB contention IMO, we need the core of young draftees from the least 3 drafts to season and gel. -
i dont see how you count this season because it hasn't happened yet....regardless, the way i remember it is that his first year he had over 1800 yrds, second year over 1300 yrds, he then retired. His first year back he had over 700 yrds, then was suspended. His first year back again he had 15 yrds, the next he had over 600 yrds and this past season over 1,100 yrds. Its complicated, yes i know my mind is odd. However, anyway you add it up it makes 6 seasons.

BOT, I believe it is called rebuilding. And the trifecta seems to be doing a heckuva job of it so far!

He was under contract when he retired? -

I guess technically he has been 'tenured' the longest of the players, but in reality, he has only played the 6 seasons...in the minds of fans, he just isn't looked at in that light...Think about it, in 2008 who was excited about Ricky having a comeback ?? No one thought he'd be anything more than a 2nd back for Brown... Well, guess what, that's all he is today... Last year, he stepped in for Brown but was breaking down by the end of the season...Father Time had caught up with him... I look at him like John Denny... been our LS for what will be 6 seasons this year, but he's just another cog...not a major piece... -
I officially hate this thread and regret posting it.
My point was to discuss how much turnover we've had, not start a nit-picky debate about how many years Ricky's been a Dolphin. -
I like Ricky now, but he was willing to do things to jepordize this franchise, and not only that but it cost them dearly to aquire him. Trading for him brought us an exciting player that had one great year, and a bunch of missed time.... -

Think of Ricky, in 2004, as a car that was gettin beaten up daily, and overheating. His body needed time to cool down, and he took the necessary time off to heal. Yea he was facing suspensions and all that stuff, but he was also being rode into the ground by Wannstedt.
-
If we are talking all time Dolphins I think Jim Jensen holds the record at 12 years.

So what if he would have been here longer. They might have actually been a good team with Ricky in 2004 instead they sucked because he left. -
Think of it using the truth. Ricky had the green light to take himself out of any game, at any time. Ricky was just as guilty for staying in games as Wanny was at running him more and more when he was in....
