According to Aaron Wilson. Apologies if already reported.

Leads me to think Vontae Davis may be out vs Browns.

I know Washington personally, he's been hurt a lot the past few years. He's pretty small and the opposite of physical. I'd pass on him

If Vontae Davis is out against the Browns, they are going to run a LOT of screens at us.

    A lot of them.

If Davis is indeed out due to an injury during punt coverage duty, then the reason given on the official report should be "stupidity."

A major key to this game will be keeping the Dolphins' defensive linemen and outside linebackers from pinning their ears back, and making sure they're active against the screen. If Vontae is out, them the perimeters of our defense are vulnerable to screen, and we need to cover for them by having our defensive linemen and outside linebackers be disciplined. That will take away from our pass rush, but that's OK because Colt McCoy pressures himself to get rid of the ball quickly.

The key will be whether the Dolphins' front seven can defend the screens adequately while still being ready to blow up the ground game with Peyton Hillis.

I'm not looking forward to Sean Smith coming up to tackle Hillis on a screen....

Way to go, coach Dummy. Get your best cornerback injured covering punts. You deserve the firing that's coming.

    Wow, Hood and Washington?

They are turning over boulders to find guys,

Well, of that list, Vasher and Gay seem like the two BA FA Cb atm, Vasher was a good tackler but not very fast, Gay had neck problems in NOLA.

Lito Shepherd is interesting, no longer great by any means, but for what they need, a couple of week fill in (ala Al Harris last yr) he could probably get it done.

I think he'll tackle him around the legs well enough if he gets a clear shot, though Peyton will probably pick up an extra 2 or 3 yards post-contact. The question is will Sean Smith fight through the block in order to make that tackle. The answer is, no. Will Nolan Carroll? I say, no. Can Will Allen? Maybe. They might have to rely on Nate Jones to fight through and make plays against the screen and he only just got back here.

Hillis will get half of his yards jumping if Sean Smith has to tackle him around the feet. He's a jumper.

He certainly was last year. Not sure I've seen him do that yet this year, in fact he looks a little less agile in general than a year ago. As a fantasy owner, I'm concerned. But he still has that maddening knack for picking up 2 or 3 yards more than you thought he should have when you make solid contact on him.

As long as they're NFL caliber corners then I'm content with the team adding them. Fabian Washington would at least be a NFL caliber CB though. Caroll is not that.

You're fine if your fourth CB is Fabian Washington, your third a healthy Will Allen. Guys like Reshad Jones, Nolan Caroll, and Benny Sapp though? Comon...

That's the difference between Baltimore and Miami.

Heh, Baltimore is down to hoping Chris Carr's hammy is 100%, we tend to focus on the dolphins and forget that other teams are having the same sort of issues as we are having.

Still like N Carrol, competent Safety play will go a long way to taking the stink off of him, as keep in mind on the long receptions against him, Rashad "Lost" Jones was free lancing elsewhere when he thought he had safety help over the top, no Cb is going to look good in that situation.

It still perplexes me why Sapp is a FA, but Carroll still has a job.

In any case, I hope Davis is okay.

Sapp reached his ceiling, Carroll still has one. Plus he run a 4.4
