Bottom line, the best receiver in Dolphins history is without a doubt was Paul Warfield.

2nd and 3rd is a toss up between Clayton and Duper

 

Crazy that Landry made #9 after just playing a few seasons. He caught like a million passes that final year though.

Thats a weak list honestly.. the fact that hartline and bess are there just shows you how pathetic we are… ill take Brandon Marshall and Mike Wallace over both of them, any sunday.

 

A guy that was better of performing at the Arnold Classic for bodybuilding than play in the nfl.. i was actually excited about that signing when we got him.. lol guy was useless

 

This post is 10x better than the article. I don't mind blogs, but I really prefer the ones that make me glad I read them. After reading the article, all I could thinks was "okay".

Paul Warfield is probably my first favorite player. My dad was a Buckeye and I'm from Central Ohio, but even as a kid who was unaware of his local connections, I loved that dude. He clearly would lead my list of favorite Dolphins WRs, but I'd have to put a lot of thought into who's next.

 

Not a great list imo...

Marino never had a great tight end, never even a real good running back, and always a average defense really, his whole stinkin career

 

Best WR Warfield first and daylight second.

Best receiving 1-2 combo Clayton and Duper.

Best 1-2-3 Clayton, Duper and Moore.

Best TE. Wake me when we get one lif someone put a gun against my head maybe Randy McMichael.

 

It just goes to show the utter absurdity of sportswriters. I don’t have the time nor inclination to do so, but I’d be curious to see how Warfield’s stats as I laid out above compare to every “great” wide receiver in NFL history.

I think it would be quite difficult to find another receiver with that many yards per reception or who caught touchdowns so frequently.

 

With another season, Parker could move up fifth, and with two more could be fourth.

 

It is hard to appreciate Paul Warfield as a fan who didn't watch him play. Growing up learning about the Dolphins he was almost always shown as a footnote to the no-name defense and the 3 headed running game.

 

iirc Don Hutson of the 1940s Packers is the only other WR in NFL history with 20+ ypc and a TD better than every 5 receptions.

 

Before my time, but he must have been some hell of a player.

 

Didn’t know that…but it certainly proves the point of just how magnificent Paul Warfield truly was.
