We've brought this guy in for a visit, and it's rumoured that we're really interested in him. I've hardly heard anything of him during the draft process, with most people thinking that he's a late-round guy. I think he turned some heads at his pro day with: 4.40 40 yard dash 42 inch vertical 10'7 broad jump 4.48 Short shuttle 7.19 3-cone 17 reps on bench http://blogs.nfl.com/2013/03/16/don-jones-stands-out-at-arkansas-state-pro-day/ I managed to get hold of the bowl game against Kent State. The cutting up isn't great as I rushed it a bit but I think all of his tackles are in there. I think we're looking at him as a nickel corner, like he plays in that game. But he's listed as a safety on most websites.
Sorry, didn't publish the annotations pointing him out. He's #5, playing the slot corner. It should point him out now.
NFLDS lists him with the strong safeties. They don't even have corner as an alternate position. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/members/ratings/profile.php?pyid=103581
Also, last year we signed Kelcie McCray as a UDFA from Ark State, he got hurt at the start of training camp but we carried him on IR the entire season and still have him. Apparently they got a good look at Jones in 2011 too while scouting McCray.
Yeah, no one seems to know much about him. PFW haven't graded him at all. Looks more of a nickel corner than a safety to me.
