▪ Marino’s increased role within the organization: “That’s good. If he wants to do it, takes the time to do it, he’ll definitely be an asset.” When informed that Marino is sitting in on meetings with the quarterbacks, Shula replied: “He didn’t sit in on my meetings.”
▪ His thoughts on Marino, the quarterback: “The best pure passer to play the game. I don’t know who’s ever been a better pure passer than Dan.”
▪ If the 2014 Dolphins are a playoff team: “Yeah, I don’t see why . They look good. Defensively, they’re pretty good. And you’ve got to like Tannehill. He’s a good athlete playing quarterback. That shows up when he gets outside that pocket.”

k-bayfinfanforum_veteranIf anyone has an Apple TV, the NFL Now channel has a 3 part piece on the '84 Dolphins and Marino's ridiculous record demolishing season. Not sure where else you might be able to see it ( NFL Now?)but for you younger guys this is a must see. I can't believe how much I remember from that season. Marino is best pure passer ever. He set those passing records when the DBs were allowed to mug receivers and standard DL technique was hands to the face of the Oline. P. Manning, B. Favre, D. Brees would never have broke the records had the rules been the same or if they played in the same era.
Wow..I wish I could see that to relive 84..how special that was !! And I would love for my son to be able to see it. I was 24 then and he is 23 now and a huge Dolfan as well.
