*sighs* Are we seriously taking a crack at McNabb just because he never that a tie can occur in the NFL?

I would think a high profile QB, or any NFL player would know the rules.

I highly doubt that a lot of players knew or even heard of the Tuck Rule before that one game.

And I can easily see why he wouldn't know there was a tie in the NFL. It's not exactly an every occurence.

    My point exactly.

Now if he said something to the effect of "I didn't know I couldn't legally pass the ball after I crossed the line of scrimmage", then I would be concerned.

He was in the league when it happened! I would think any player with half a brain would know that there is a single overtime period then the game ends in a tie, I've known it since I was a kid and I'm not a professional player. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I myself didn't even know a tie occured in 2002, and I've been a fan of the game since the mid-nineties. Not knowing about a tie really isn't a big deal.

Not for a casual fan, no. For someone who makes his living playing the game, yes.

I must profess some ignorance here. I knew there were ties in the NFL. I just always thought there were two overtimes first.
