I understand teams from the NFL soemtimes try to lure head coaches from college ranks and they always seem to fail but how come not ONE team seems to go after Jim Tressel of Ohio State University. Hes a great headcoach and playcaller imo and has been to two national championships in the last six years unfortunately beating my canes. He also has been to five straight BCS bowl games. Hes a very good head coach and I think if one guy can have a shot at succeeding in the NFL from the college ranks, I think its him. Why don't teams go after him?

Saban and that other quitter had NFL roots
Tressel does not
with all the money in college ball, I think you would have to be insane to leave for 80 hour work weeks -
The Browns where interested in '06 but he said no.

Ohio State gets the best players every year.....it can't be that hard to win all but two of your games every year. I think if most of these guys could coach in the NFL, they would be there.

Tressel's act wouldn't cut in the NFL. He has one of the cushiest jobs in American long with Pete over at USC. Those two will never leave and can't see them even thinking NFL. Tressel is an oustanding coach and gets the most out of his players but no way he could carry that over to the NFL. Pete did coach in the NFL and that's why he's at USC.

Yeah, Tressel is worshipped in Ohio, well he was but losing to national title games in a row might make people sour on him for some ungodly reason. But the man is a collge coach through and through.
Besides, the amount of money college coaches get these days, he is probably in a better spot financially at Ohio State than 75% of the NFL right now. -

Not trying to sympathize with OSU but the roughing the punter rule should be changed, IMO. LSU was a better team but I hate that rule for any team. -
Tressell is only a good coach when OSU plays w/a lead. See the Florida game last year, Illinois and LSU this year.
