Draft Countdown - 2009 NFL Draft Rankings
Sintim and Moore moving up.

BTW, I saw a piece on Safety Rolle out of FSU on ESPN this morning- he's a Rhodes Scholar finalist. That's more than a little impressive.

Myron Rolle probably won't be an NFL player. With him putting academics above football, I think his future is as a brain surgeon, which I believe what he's going after.

Why isn't Terrence Cody ranked at all in their DT rankings??
This guy is a big reason Saban looks so good this year. -

I tell you what, Kenny Britt had another monster day today and I believe he will come out in the draft, this kid is the real deal.

Observations from today:
Sintim- looks good. Good movement, size, intensity, all of that.
Raji- very thick, very quick. Strikes me as more of a 4-3 under tackle DT, like Sapp, McFarland, Glenn Dorsey. Is he for us? Not sure about that one.
Curry- now this is a guy that looks like he could be special. Granted the game is only at the end of the first quarter, but this guy seems to be flying all over the field. High motor, high potential, high production. Would be a great pickup despite my preferences, but I doubt that he'll be available. Easily the most impressive of the three. -

Yeah, Jerry sure is looking good. Between him and Raji, based on what little I've seen, the choice for our system would be easy- Jerry. But Raji has the size advantage weight wise- that's a big boy. I need to see more, I just liked more of what I saw from Perry today. I want to take a look at Ron Brace from BC, too. -
One guy I'm not impressed with today is Tyson Jackson. Hasn't done anything today when I've been watching. Hasn't displayed any pass rush moves, has overran several run plays this current drive, he's just been occupying blocks.
By the way, Jim did you see that inside split that Greg Hardy did to sack LSU on the last drive? That was beautifully done yet again. He split Johnson and Black on that play. Twice this game he's done that. With the mix of his good hands and his quickness off the edge, he can be a disruptive force. -
I mentioned Jerry as a possible NT a while back and people thought I was nuts. Got lucky that he played well enough to get attention.
Didn't you and I discuss him a while back Jim? Or was it you alen? Dam I can't remember. -

That's a great call Con. He definitely impresses me and I concur on the draft spot for him. He was dominant tonight. I noticed that he will sometimes attempt to go around the offensive line when facing a double team, I thought that was interesting. He's quick for a big guy too. He had a sack on LSU's second to last drive I believe in which he blew by the RG off the bat. His quickness off the line on that play was tremendous. -
Did you see Marko Mitchell play today?
-
Decent enough for Marko, just caught little bits and pieces. He uses his size to go over the middle fairly well. He's averaging 17.1 ypc this year which is pretty good playing in the WAC. He probably won't get to 1,000 yards this year, but he still has had a decent campaign.

I really liked Alphonso Smith today. I didn't get to see him in coverage as he gives so much cushion that he's often out of the screen but he made plays. Whenever there's a big play, he's right there or he's the one who made it. Today, he forced two fumbles and then there was a blocked punt and he recovered it. I wish he'd be more willing in run support because he tends to make plays in run support such as the aforementioned, forcing fumbles. One fumble was when he put the helmet right on the ball and then another one was where he knocked it out of Dominic Davis' hands on a scramble. Boston College didn't throw his way today (when I watched) but he contributed and he fair caught a couple balls on ST's.

I don't trust myself so that's probably a good thing that I don't have others lives in my hands. :up:Regan21286 likes this. -
Hardy showed me alot today with his play.
Alot of passrushers look great when going 1 on 1 with backs and TEs but ease up when they face a double team by two guys on the line.
Hardy showed he has the skills to be effective in the next level rushing the passer.
