Rolle has already said he wants to play in the NFL and be one of the best. I see him being like Robert Smith play for 6-7 years and retires. Hey if Rolle can get production like Smith thats fine with me.
i'm running a hybrid 3-4/4-3. Cooper was solid, big and safe. He fit the mix I was looking for. Basically a Hartline type of pick. Yeah I felt Cox represented good risk to reward in that spot
this is something i really dont get. what makes one think that? he'll have plenty of time after football to do what he wants. not just that, but last year when he was takin the test/interview for the scholar thing, afterwards he flew from the location (alabama i think) to the maryland game and played the 2nd half. come on now.
I was comparing the 2 players because both are smart and want/wanted careers after football. No Rolle isn't the player Smith is but I believe he can be.
Been stressed like hell the last couple months so I need to relax a bit lol. I'll be back. /terminator
I was between Crompton and CB Kevin Thomas when I acquired that fifth round pick. And of course Crompton was the only guy I was going to trade into the sixth or seventh to get. I do think he can play and got a bad rap for the team he was on with no wr help and a coaching staff that was completely in flux at UT.
He didn't look that good in the Texas vs the Nation game either IMO. People like him though. I'm not a big fan but thats' the beauty of watching players. We all see different things.
I give myself a B on my draft. I went in with two picks in the second round, 39 and 43 overall. I was thinking about taking Patrick Robinson at 39 and Lee at 43, but when the Bears took PR right before me at 38, I bumped Lee up and then had the offer to trade down from 43 picking up 70 and 74. I like getting McCluster and Franks with those two picks, two guys who I feel are 2nd round players. I like Reshad Jones but think perhaps I should have gone a different direction with that pick. Like Dickson. And then I really like getting Thomas late. Certainly upgraded the defense which was my goal coming into the draft and knew I didn't need to add too much on the offensive side of the ball to areas that I had already addressed through trades. Outside of the first two picks, this was really about adding to depth. Although I do like the long term potential of all my guys. 1.12 OLB Brandon Graham 2.39 ILB Sean Lee 3.70 WR Dexter McCluster 3.74 CB Dominique Franks 3.78 S Reshad Jones 3.94 TE Ed Dickson 5.155 CB Kevin Thomas
i thought about taking thomas in the 5th or so...but the injury factor was too much for me. if he can stay healthy, then its a great pick. but just too injury plagued at usc. for where he was taken, its definitely a good pick though.
i dont know who you paid off to have McCoy fall to you at 6 but its almost unfair Getting him and Hughes instantly catapults your draft into a great one. The next four picks are all solid types of picks with some upside potential in Thurmond and Ducasse. Asante was a great pick up that late as Ive said before. Harbor, Paschall and Sheehan I dont know anything about so I'm going to have to give you an F for picking people I dont know
funny thing is that I had McCoy slipping to Seattle in my mock, warning you all that it would happen and it STILL HAPPENED!
I gotta say..that I impressed myself. I setup a damn good board and I got damn near every guy that I had slotted for each pick. 1st Round = N/A 2nd Round = #38 (From Browns) Patrick Robinson - CB (FSU) 3rd Round = #76 Alex Carrington - DE (ARK. ST.) 4th Round = N/A 5th Round = #142 (From Chiefs) D'Anthony Smith - NT (LA TECH.) 6th Round = #172 Dennis Landolt -OT (PA.ST.), #177 (From Browns) Marcus Easley -WR (CONN), #186 Jeff Cumberland -TE (ILL) 7th Round = N/A
whoevers got santonio holmes, i'll trade my three 7th rounders and possibly kevin ogletree for him...its apparently the going rate
well i have 4 picks left but like it so far 3 72 cb brandon ghee 4 103 fs major wright 4 124 nt torell troup 4 125 ss kurt coleman 5 147 qb levi brown 5 151 olb arthur moats 7 195 wr donald jones 218, 220, 221, 222 to go
yeah, apparently wr's do grow on trees... unfortunately for our Phins, there are no trees on our island. I really overpaid in the Greg Jennings trade I guess...
Schisno and I had a board for one of our second round picks: 1. Carlos Dunlap 2. Cory Wootton 3. Brandon Spikes 4. Toby Gerhart 5. Jerome Murphy 6. Amari Spievey Pretty estatic to say I got 3 out of 6 of those guys... I think Morgan, Dunlap, Spikes, and Spievey is a great upper half the draft. That could just be me though...
I think it's pretty good, but you don't have anything higher than a 3rd round pick so it's tougher to comment on.
2nd Round - 43 - Tim Tebow(QB) 3rd Round - 91 - Anthony McCoy(TE) 4th Round - 112 - Mike Johnson(OG) 6th Round - 171 - Danario Alexander(WR) ----Would have been Al Woods Let the Tebow love/hate commence....
i like tebow, n think if you dont rush him n can let him develop you'll get a very good qb, but will take time 4 new mechanics to become natural feel.
