There are a group of GMs that like to look for trades when their turn comes up, y'all know who they are.
I would have barfed...just because its the Pats...and Id hate that damned Garapolo trade even more cuz you got Cooper....
Nice pic Todd...though we all knew who it was. Brings up an interesting question. Is there ever a time, where the player is worth more then the pick...in your all opinion?
Also...FYI Michelle (FFG)....is at a softball game, if our pick comes up before she gets home....we will be pausing before she gets home so we can discuss our strategy. Just wanted to give you all a heads up so nobody was sitting around waiting....
Agreed, solid pick Todd. He'll probably go later in the real draft but I like him a lot as a prospect.
To me, one of the biggest shortcomings of the GML is the emphasis placed on where players go in the actual draft. That should carry some weight, but not too much IMO. usually the GM that wins draft pick of the year because they picked a guy much later than he actually went in the draft. If I'm not mistaken, the pick of E.J. Manuel won a couple years back. In actuality, Manuel was probably picked exactly where he should have been picked in our league, but because he went in the top 10 in the actual draft, that changed everyone's perception of him.
You mean like the Shea McClellin pick from 2012 where he won because he was picked in the first round in the GML and real NFL. It's hard to tell a steal right after the draft, but it's ok to try and predict.
I'm ready to pick as soon as Jacksonville picks. NYGalliday has sent me a PM about trading up (clear your inbox and I'll respond). If anyone wants to make a move up, don't hesitate, I know I don't like waiting and I won't make anyone wait for me, I'll make my pick quick so we can keep moving!
OK...like I said.....FFG is at a Softball Game, and we agreed to discuss what to do with this pick once she gets back. Soon as I hear from her....Ill make the pick. But it might be a bit....FYI
I understand if they want to make a trade and move down but I would have thought most co-gm would have a draft plan for each pick.
Thanks, V. Can you rephrase the question? I'm on my 4th Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale in like 80 minutes and I'm thinking that I don't understand your question as well as I would have an hour ago. For those of you Bud Lt, Coors Lt, Mille Lt drinkers..... Little Sumpin' Sumpin' is a real beer that tastes like beer and is made with alcohol [7.5%].
Yep...we sure do. But with the first pick....and being unsure how things were going to unfold....we wanted to get our heads together and make sure we rocked the pick is all.
F*** you taintlicker. My plan was to take Cooper and then hoard him for a trade to the highest bidder inside the top 15. Ask GIKless. He was #1 on the list I submitted to Mat when I thought I was gonna have to autodraft this sh*t.
BTW, nice job on that trade my friend, both of you. Must've painstakingly taken a while to finally put together.
It's certainly possible.... but IMO there's a strong chance Vic goes #3 to the HC who loves him a speedy pass rushing LEO [like he had in Seattle but doesn't have in Jax], as well as his athletic hybrid SAM like the guy he previously had and was smitten with [Bruce Irvin], whom Beasley is eerily similar too, albeit a better pass rusher. Fowler, as great as he is, doesn't fit the role as well IMO.... and Beasley is the much better fit at SAM, which is a nice insurance policy b/c it means Vic offers greater flexibility, as well as a fall back position in case they need to move him to SAM.
6 paragraph Todd has left the building. Spoiler
