Love Joseph as long as the recovery continues well. Just hope his body holds up while he throws it around the field.
Can I please remind everyone that if you don't think you'll be around to make your pick, please send myself or UCFinFan a draft bulletin so we don't have to go BPA for you and we keep the draft moving.
I don't think it was a reach at all. Definitely worthy of a 3rd rounder at least. He's an immediate starter at RT in my mind and his ceiling is as a good LT
This Denver D is better than the one Sanchize went to back-to-back AFC Championships with. Regardless, I'm not taking a QB high when Denver is still trying to figure out how to get Kaepernick.
? Im not blaming you for taking Cravens... Cant be blamed for the state of any team in this draft haha Just commenting on the current roster of Denver. Although I could have seen unamed QB going there realistically.
I am sorta around. Set a phone notification for around 8:40 (give the folks before me a chance) to grab my pick.
VanDolPhan, I so could've used you when I drafted Scooby in the other league...good pick for sure (fingers crossed he's actually Thomas incarnate)
Sorry I missed the SF pick. I don't have internet at home right now because I just moved so my access to this site has been spotty. I was checking on my phone waiting for the pick earlier in the day, but left for a little while and didn't check. That wasn't who I would have picked, but it's a good pick nonetheless.
I agree. SD was surely interested as a Weddle replacement... but couldn't pass up our #1 rated Center still being on the board and needing one so bad. Dallas too... but after thinking it over they were OK at SS last year and needed more of a FS/CB/Slot/Swiss DB type of guy so took Jalen Mills. Also... it isn't like Duke's D was anything to write home about last year and opponents threw all over them at times. He can bring the wood sometimes tho.
He's not a great pass defender yet but he's shown ability in zone and to cover RBs and TEs. But he is definitely a box safety who plays the run extremely well.
Im curious whats considered a reach? Hate the term to begin with because it assumes one persons opinion is above anothers and even 'the experts' are blatantly wrong come draft day.
I do there there are some players IMO (a la lawler, Glasgow, Booker, and so on) that went a little higher than I would've expected, and higher than I would've picked them. But I think since none of us here had the chance to manipulate the current rosters I think more GMs may be drafting for fit over need, cause they don't want their teams to look stupid after 5 or 6 or 7 picks, which to me makes total sense. So while I guess there have been some "reaches" IMO, so far there hasn't been anything too outrageous
I think people use the term "reach" in the sense that a player was taken before where he should have gone according to the general consensus. That being said, I subscribe to Billy Beane's belief that if you truly covet a player you do what it takes to take him. I believe there was a story about how a certain team loved Russell Wilson and was going to take him in the 4th round because they thought he would be there then. The Seahawks had other plans and took him in the 3rd. I'd much rather get my guys and draft them earlier than the consensus than get to lose out on them.
Glascow was SD's highest rated Center and the two below him had already been taken. SD needed a center bad but maybe it was a little early. I just liked him alot more than Tuerk and the remaining centers. Taking Booker might have caused someone else to take Henry... which was the player Dallas wanted. I am finding that the Chargers have many needs... and almost any talented player is a fit.
NYG and I really don't want to have to make auto selections and we've had to do quite a few the past few days. Please send a bulletin if there's a chance you won't make your pick.
Omfg if I had picked right at 2pm I could've had josh Perry? **** me Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
Playthedraft.com is prob the most up to date reckoning of a players "stock" and if u r taking someone like 100 picks ahead of the consensus of their value you are passing up value elsewhere Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
Just to clarify, the time listed in the officia draft thread is the time that your pick expires, not the time your OTC.
Guess I didn't read the rules well enough. That seems counterintuitive Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
So I could've picked him at 1 PM? My fault, but now I'm extra pissed Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk
Your time slot was 7p - 8p ET. It's all in the Draft Schedule thread. I'm just pulling it to put in the draft thread to make it easier but maybe the way I'm listing it isn't helping everyone.
