I'm not sure why he wasn't drafted... Maybe because people think he is a OLB and is too small to play it in the NFL? I think he is a ILB and one of the better ones in the draft. Honestly I should have took him in the 7th and just signed a bunch of WR like I ended up doing anyways.
Yes..... and potentially yes. I think the 5th round is a good spot for him.... but with the upside at ILB to eventually play like a top 75 pick.
I thought about Schobert but liked Matakevich better. Especially as an ILB. Still a solid pick....could do so much worse.
I know personally that for me, once i drafted Scooby in the 3rd, I really didn't have a spot for him...but i would've thought someone else would draft him
I gotta say that the guys running this thing are on point. I love how the draft list and positions breakdown is updated almost immediately every time. That makes it so much easier for us picking.
Thanks man! UC and I are definitely doing our best. I can't speak for him but this is my first time doing anything like this so I appreciate the acknowledgment!
Some nice picks in Hall, DJ White, and especially Burbridge who i have a late 3rd round grade on. I like Ochi as a late round pick as hes from Stony Brook, about an hour from me...This may be 25 picks or so too early but he could certainly be worth it.
Burbridge is interesting, a real love or hate guy in this years class. I'm personally not a fan but as a late round flier, I certainly don't dislike the pick.
Personally I see Burbridge as a high-floor low-ceiling dude. He'll be a serviceable WR, but I don't see anything special there...
Minnesota Vikings Draft 23. Andrew Billings, DL, Baylor 54. Vonn Bell, DB, Ohio State 86. Sterling Shepard, WR, Oklahoma 121. Dominique Alexander, LB, Oklahoma 160. Spencer Drango, OL, Baylor 180. Moritz Boehringer, WR, Germany State New England Patriots Draft 60. Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama 61. Keanu Neal, DB, Florida 92. Rashard Higgins, WR, Colorado State 96. Leonte Carroo, WR, Rutgers 196. 208. 214. 221.
Sorry about that... I was in a sickly haze. I was dreaming I had a pick I missed and instead it was two. For goodness sake. I apologize to you guys... but not NE.
So in Mel Kiper's "Grade A" Mock draft he has the 49ers taking Kwiatkoski in round 3 saying "Kwiatkoski is an immediate help at inside linebacker, where we need it here." I just took Kwiatkoski for the 49ers in the supplemental portion of round 5. Of course, this means very little, but I thought that was funny.
Kiper also has OT has a top need for the Dolphins, which I don't see. With Bushrod being a natural OT, I don't see OT as even a top 7 need.
All these prognosticators have no idea what they're talking about. I'm not sure they even watch NFL football games.
I can see the argument that OT is a need. Albert is older and injury prone and James is strictly a RT. Whenever one misses games our OL folds like a tent. Bushrod's is working exclusively at guard right now and while he's been an OT and a good one before, the last few years haven't been very good. Additionally we want to keep continuity along the OL because that unit works best when players stay in their same roles. In order to maintain that continuity than you need quality depth there. If we drafted Ronnie Stanley at 13 I would have 0 complaints. If we drafted Le Raven Clark or Jason Spriggs in round 2 with an eye towards replacing Albert, again I'd have 0 complaints. Tannehill has proven tough but protecting the QB is always a pressing need, especially for a team that has proven inept at it.
I wouldn't complain about Stanley at 13, just because the value would seem to be to good to pass up, but with all of our defensive needs, I can't see us drafting a OT in Round 1 or 2 unless it was a major value. How can Bushrod be working exclusively at OG when we haven't even had OTA or Mini Camp yet? If anything he's only been doing it for a few weeks and could easily transition back to tackle. I would prefer we grab a OG in round 2 over a OT in round 2. At least the guard should be in position to start with Bushrod the backup OT, instead of Bushrod starting at OG and our rookie OT sitting on the bench until injury happens. I just see OG as a bigger need than OT
OG may be a bigger need, but Albert can shift there. You're talking to someone who has always believed that you build an OL from the inside out not vice versa. The shortest distance from one point to another is always a straight line. That said, the draft is about value first. It's also about which position is harder to find players at and which position is harder to find players at. Finding tackles is harder then guards. There's a reason guards rarely shift outside but tackles frequently shift inside. Regarding Bushrod, he will be working at OG. That's what Gase said. So that seems to be a formality more then anything. We are going to have to agree on the philosophy of having a OT on the bench. For me, guard is a more fungible position. Finding a quality OT, especially LT is just much harder.
That higbee pick tho...a round 4 or 5 talent...but that assault charge tho...idk if the dudes gonna make the NFL
Not that any of these TE's are better. This whole class of TE's is lackluster. Almost no one above a day 3 grade
Sorry everyone, I dun goofed. Washington will take Devon Cajuste and Chicago takes Dean Lowery. The two picks were so close, I got them confused.
