Personally, I like polarizing my strengths. I like drafting two elite CBs or Two elite DEs, that way you can pretty much eliminate the passing game and while you might not have the best run support you can schematically help offset your lack of talent there because of your elite DE/CBs.
lol. yeah but will he be there at the next pick? I'm guessing not. Trent Williams just went. That's too bad.
Pick coming up soon. http://mattwaldmanrsp.com/2013-rsp-football-writers-project/writers-project-draft-room/
Mike Wallace, Cortland Finnegan, Alfred Morris, Dwayne Bowe, Phil Taylor, Tamba Hali, Mark Barron, Mike Pouncey, Jordy Nelson, Crabtree, Jahri Evans, Stephon Gilmore, Quinton Coples, Adrian Clayborn, Cameron Jordan, Muhammed Wilkerson, Laurinaitis, William Moore, Jerod Mayo, Happy Gilmore. Personally, I'd probably take the guy Bradford's offense could've really used in in St Louis-- Wallace.
At this spot I like... RB Jamaal Charles WR Jordy Nelson WR Marques Colston OT Jared Veldheer OT Michael Roos DT Jurrell Casey DE Lamarr Houston LB Sean Weatherspoon SS Reshad Jones CB Chris Harris, Jr. CB Keenan Lewis
I've eliminated some old guys from consideration. Roddy White for example is like 32 years old. I like him but I take it they're supposed to be building for the future.
I think I might take Mike Pouncey here. Arguably the best player in football at his position. And I can get receivers later.
He won't be there when you get back. Especially since his more well known but less talented brother is already off the board.
Not really sure I have one. Current roster is Sam Bradford, Revis, Greg Hardy, Reshad Jones and Jason Witten.
YOu could get a decent center next round but not many top WRs left. I'd probably go Nelson. He'll be gone soon otherwise I would think.
If you're not gonna have great tackles I'd think about receivers who are good in the quick pass game and can make plays after the catch.
Ah interesting so you've got Sam Bradford, Jordy Nelson, Jason Witten and Mike Pouncey on offense...Darrelle Revis, Reshad Jones and Greg Hardy on defense.
Yep. Wanted to try and get one really good player at every level. Just LB to go. Have my eye on a few but I'm at the wrong end of the snake so don't pick again for about 65 picks.
I see Arian Foster is still there. Would look good on paper w/ Nelson & Witten. Could pair Jahri Evans w/ Pouncey. Connor Barwin could make a nice Sam hybrid.... pair him with Zach Brown and you'd have a versatile OLB duo. (that way you could run a hybrid front like we do now and maybe grab Derek Wolfe for the jumbo end. Just an idea) How 'bout Justin Blackmon... and then go for the WR trifecta w/ Kendall Wright?
You've still got to get a good left tackle, tailback and linebacker if you really want to be represented at all levels.
Looking at Arian Foster, Frank Gore, DeSean Jackson, was going to take the Saints center and kick Pouncey to guard, need a left tackle, looking at Bruce Carter and another corner.
Arian Foster has outstanding feet and acceleration for a back of his size. I keyed on him a few times because I just don't see many Texans games, and I was certainly impressed. One of my favorite RBs- I'm not exactly sure what you're doing with this draft thing and what the parameters are, but if he's on the board this late it seems like quite a value to me, great player.
There are an awful lot of good linemen with which to build an offensive line. I just drew up an 18 strong list of lineman I'd be comfortable building a line around Pouncey with.
