1} Miami Dolphins: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
I had the Dolphins as the No. 1 team in my 2012 NFL Mock Draft prior to the season, and I'm going back to them. Chad Henne is out for the year, and the players will eventually quit on the lame-duck Tony Sparano - especially after that ridiculous loss against the Jets on Monday night.
2} Miami Dolphins: Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson
Tony Sparano's eventual firing means that Anthony Fasano is done in Miami as well. Dwayne Allen, an absolute stud who could make it into the first round of this mock soon, would be a great weapon for Andrew Luck.
3} Miami Dolphins: Andrew Datko, OT, Florida State
A much-needed upgrade for the offensive line. Marc Colombo stinks. He can't block anyone. Upgrading the right tackle position has to be Miami's No. 1 priority.
I think this is a good spot for Andrew Datko, who just suffered another shoulder injury. He's a medium-risk, high-reward prospect atop Round 3......end of article..
I got Dwayne going in the first but he is so damn QB friendly is not funny...
Andrew is big, 6'6 333, but yet he's athletic, and takes care of his body, low body fat on this big man, and Lord know were desperate at the position, can get to the 2nd level with ease at that size, stays nice and square at engagement, can mirror his enemy nicely, and just looks solid..
What a draft this would be.

I thought you put this in the Dolphins forums because Serena Williams is minority owner...

I like the first pick, obviously. Datko's hurt (I believe out for the season), so I'll pass for now. I haven't seen Clemson play, so I won't comment on Allen. But, if Courtney Upshaw is there at the top of round 2, or Vontaze Burfict for that matter, I'd take either of them over a TE.

Just watch how much this stuff changes once we get to draft day....always does! Always!

Awesome sig man!

If we ran a 4-3 or could find creative ways to use him, the LB I'd want is Zach Brown. He could become a major asset in a pass happy NFL and he's quite effective as a blitzer and occasional edge rusher. Unfortunately he won't be around in the 2nd round. We could also use a guy like Manti Te'o in the middle of our defense, no? -

Give me Colby Fleener. He's a good player and Andrew's buddy. Make the comfortable

DJ, I've heard good things about Allen, just haven't been able to watch Clemson yet. He's only a junior right?
I still think this team needs more pass-rushers. Koa Misi is a good run stopping player, but that's about it at this point. Cameron Wake hadn't done much until the Broncos game. I think a guy like Upshaw can take over Misi's position and provide you with pass-rush opposite Wake. Upshaw reminds me a little bit of the Steelers' LaMarr Woodley. And based on what we've seen this year, I'd rather have Koa Misi as our 3rd OLB than Jason Taylor. Underrated guy I've seen once that might sneak up draft boards as a conversion project is Central Florida DE Darius Nall. I'd have to see more of him, but he might be a mid to late round guy to keep tabs on.ToddsPhins likes this. -
We do need some LB's, but i think if we get Luck, the most important thing we can do year 1 is focus on getting him comfortable. If we can find some help for our D in the later rounds or FA, great. Otherwise focus on a right tackle that won't get Luck killed and possibly a pass catching TE and/or WR with our early picks. We can then use all our early picks in 2013 on D. I don't want to screw up Luck by having him go through the David Carr experience (or worse, the "Columbo is my right tackle" experience).

If were talkin linebackers, there's 1 player that I would love to have, and would take in a heartbeat, and that's the Tank from TCU baby..We need a player like that for a myriad of emotional reasons... so bad its ridiculous.
I would snag him in the 2nd and ship burnetts *** out real quick...
You wanna talk about suring up leadership for the future, sheeeeeet, Luck on offense, Tank on defense..done. -
We'll have to see how the Draft goes.
Fact of the matter is this defense is getting whooped by opponents. They played stout against the Broncos for about 55 minutes, but then they folded like a cheap suit.
We don't know what the defense is going to look like next year, schematically. Who will be running it? These are important questions to answer because we could very well find ourselves blowing up the defense, and if you do that you're going to need some new parts to make the new scheme work. How about a good safety, for once? Are we going to need to finally find a true middle linebacker, like a Manti Te'o? -
They're bad over the top right now, but I've seen progress up front whether it was the Jets game or this one. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a 3 year rebuilding project though. Just get Luck and then we'll figure **** out later.
Who are your favorite tackles? I think that's the most important thing if you get Luck. Sign a Ben Grubbs and draft a great tackle and then well as I said it'll take a while. -
Dwayne Allen is a redshirt Junior and will be graduating. Unless he ends the season with a very sour taste in his mouth competition wise, he's likely coming out.
