Drew seems to be making a big splash with his clients early this year.
I saw a story where he sent out an unauthorized e-mail to all 32 teams, telling them that three wide receivers he represents — Plaxico Burress, Anquan Boldin and Chad Johnson — could be acquired via trade.
Then I checked out his website because I was curious who else he represented.

If he works off a percentage of the contract, he must have more money than most of his clients!!!
Notice that he also represents Bell and Hill who are heading towards FA.
It was also interesting to see how many former Dolphins appear on his list of Distinguished Retired Clients.
I guess nothing really exciting, but I found it interesting and thought I would share what I found.

The Giants are pissed because they do not want to trade Plaxico because they saw just how much he means to Eli Manning and the entire Giant offense when he was absent, shooting himself and doing other fun things at night clubs past midnight.
The Giants would be dumb to let him go unless they were to work a trade behind the scenes with Arizona for Boldin or with another team to aquire a tall, true #1 WR. Without one, Eli Manning will not win. -
Maybe they can do like the Jets and Skins did with Coles and Moss a couple years back and trade Plax for Johnson or Boldin. -
Giants are coming down on him for tampering. I guess Drew was jumping the gun a bit.
No link, was just on the TV. Giants saying that Plax is not available and any further action by Drew to imply he is will be met with tampering charges.anlgp likes this. -

Having a client list like that, I can't imagine that his phone doesn't ring every 1/2 second.

Drew is the real life Bob Sugar.

Quit hating on Drew.
He is a tough advocate for his clients. If they didn't want him, they'd fire him. Drew does not "manipulate" his clients. They are not innocent in Drew's shenanigans. Football players' careers are nasty, brutish, and short. Their contracts are not guaranteed. The players want to get paid in full. They hire Drew to get them the most money possible.
All hate for Drew should be directed towards the players. I'm a lawyer. I don't make the money decisions for my clients. Legally, I have to let them have the final say. My clients make all final decisions after they receive my advice and counsel. And anyone who says he manipulates the players is really just showing disrespect for the players. They're big boys. They know who they hired and they know what he's up to. -

On a side note, I don't see the big deal with Punk Drew touting his clients to others in the league...as he said himself, he didn't do anything wrong. He can't talk specifics with any team about any player still under contract, but that doesn't preclude 'info gather' be that from the agent's side or the teams side....after all, if a team is interested in Plax, don't they have the right to know what the legal issues might be ?? That doesn't mean that they'll throw out numbers of a potential deal. That sort of thing must go on all the time... -

That said, Drew uses the media, be it TV, press or internet just at-to-over the boundaries of legitament. Is that morally right ?? I don't know. I am of the opinion that he goes a little too far. On the other hand, there are agents who are not of the style of Drew that seem to be just as powerful in the sports arena as well without the hoopla and press negotiations... -
Drew is an attorney. He got his law degree from Duke. I believe all agents must be attorneys...I think.
Larry, if you don't like Drew's high profile, that's cool, but the outright hate directed towards him, on this thread, or just generally on these boards and others, is in my opinion, misdirected. Hate the player, not the Drew. -

Besides, the NFLPA has mandated that NFL player agents can only charge a maximum of 3% of the player's salary. -
Beside if he wasn't good at what he does he wouldn't have such a large client base. -
If I were a player, Drew would be my agent.
The guy is great at what he does. Contrary to popular belief, the Dolphins (at least past regimes) like working with him. And he always had good things to say about the team and the guys he negotiated with (Matt Thomas).
You never hear about him screwing a client, not reading a contract, etc. The guy is at the top of the food chain and players love him because he goes above and beyond for them.
As Garden said, you don't have to like him. But most of the hate should probably be aimed at the players who hire him.finsincebirth and GARDENHEAD like this.
