I've got a CD in right now and my drive is making a really loud noise. It only happens when a disc is in which I've read somewhere is normal and that if it makes this noise while a disc is in it's better than if it doesn't.

Yeah my comp does that all the time when a disc is in. However my disc drive is also shot. :yes:

no it reads the disc I just don't want to think about having to replace a drive on a three year old computer :lol:

Did the drive just start humming? I know some drives are just noisy.
