One thing most of us could agree on, if the forum still had the thread rating system in place, this thread would be a strong candidate for the coveted *one star* rating.
He was only the possible BPA because Ireland was dumb enough to trade down in the first round to begin with. Instead of having Dez Byrant as the receiver opposite Marshall, the Dolphins instead have an average DL in Odrick and a mediocre LB in Misi. I would trade both those players for Bryant, without thinking about it twice.
Even if we had not traded down, I'd have taken Earl Thomas before Bryant and I'd guess the Dolphins would have too. It's too soon to say though which would have been the best decision. 4 yrs from now, for all we know, Odrick may be a Pro Bowler and Bryant out of the league. That's extreme, I know, but it is ridiculous to try to accurately judge the long term impact of a draft pick after two seasons, usually. None of us know yet which of these guys will have a better pro career.
Your entitled to your opinion. I just disagree and I would take Bryant over Odrick, and Misi, any day of the week. The Dolphins have a severe need for more offensive play makers. That is exactly what Brayant would have been for the Dolphins.
