    Defensive End Dwight Freeney
You know who he is and what he can do. His salary is $6.22M. Auction has private reserve. You will all be notified when the reserve has been met. Auction will end 48 hours after the reserve it met.

In case you think he can only ball on a turf field. He dominated in the Pro Bowl this year on a hybrid surface, getting 2 sacks and a forced fumble. The Pro Bowl is played on the same field that is present in every new stadium in the NFL, and most old ones too.

Looking for good players, looking for good picks.

In all seriousness Gish, I don't know why you have Dwight Freeney on the block, bro ... you traded to get him, be proud of the deal you made to get him (which, by the way, I thought was actually a very good - and fair - one). Freeney is arguably the best 4-3 DE in the NFL, a younger and faster Jason Taylor. He's a beast.

Most of the GMs are trying to run 3-4 defenses this year ... us included. I'd actually love to have him on our team, as he's not only a great player but also a great guy, but he doesn't fit what we're trying to do on that side of the ball.

I'm trying to run a 4-3 but as Alen and VO both have pointed out you just got him. I don't know what you traded to get for him, but I think it was a nice move for your Dline.

I think the moves you have made have been really great for the packers and would hate to see a team go without someone for a while because of what the issues you have with this game is.

My comment about Freeney was a smart *** one and I apologize for it. I was honestly joking and none of you should take the offhanded comments I make serious about the players I don't want. It's just for fun and I'm having a good time that's all..

But dude, come on. Don't quit the packers need you.

whether i just got him or not does not matter. since you all require that i disclose my plans ahead of time. i've been debating switching to the 3-4. obviously im not going to make that switch as long as i have freeney. i just wanted to see what i could get for him. depending on how good the offers were, i could go either way. but since you bunch of heckling jerks squashed any potential offers, i get bullied into making my decision instead of letting the market decide.

its just frustrating. im not going to quit. im staying. but i will be much less active.

i know it's your plans and you've got every right not to disclose them to us.

how did we squash potential offers? if someone wants a player they'll get him regardless.

and you could draft a DE to switch the the 3-4 you've got half a million draft picks?

i really like my 4-3. but i believe in exploring all options. if i could get an offer for freeney that would make me better overall, but require i switch to a 3-4, i would do it. but im not going to run a 3-4 with freeney. that is a waste.

I remember the thread when you acquired Dwight Freeney. I asked you if you were playing a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme and you said 4-3. I replied to you saying that I thought you could have went with a 3-4 scheme despite your addition of Dwight Freeney and I still think you can. I'm not going to tell you what I think you should do nor am I going to tell you what to do but Freeney is undersized - obviously - but so is James Harrison. Freeney has a great first step and can get under the pads of blockers. I"ll leave it at that.

As for you GMing the Packers and being less active, why would you do that? I think you've done a good job with your team man. You've added weapons to the wide receiver spot, you've upgraded the tight end spot with a former pro bowler and a young player, you've gotten Freeney whose an elite pass rusher, and you've added a top safety in LaRon Landry. I think you should continue to hit free agency with the same mindset you have had thus far and continue to do what your doing but its your call, not mine.

yeah. i remember u asking about that. my approach going into this offseason was to fix the packers defensive issues. their inability to close out an opponent was the biggest concern. they lost almost all of their games on last minute drives. so i made the defensive line my top priority. i hired to Jim Washburn to bring the same defensive mentality to the Packers that the Titans have played with for the past ten seasons. His specialty is the Dline, and he has always gotten the most out of the players he has worked with. Add Freeney to create a fierce tandem of DEs. Add Red Bryant, and Ahtyba Rubin to give Washburn some young talent to own the middle with. This is the plan. But I had to find out if anyone would give up the farm for freeney.

I see. Well I think you've done a good job of fixing up your top priority, which is the defensive line as you note. My advice stays the same though, I think you have some of the pieces to the 3-4 scheme and I still think you should do what you've been doing this whole time because its been successful, at least in my opinion.
