Well yeah that I definitely agree with, that is one of the things that I liked about Nintendo's presser, pretty much everything except I think Metroid was due out by the end of this year.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I liked Nintendo's conference. I wish they'd stop all the "everyone can play" crap

Mario Galaxy 2 isn't coming out til next year either, but Myamoto pretty much admitted that the only reason for that is cause if they bring it out this year, it'll take away all the sales for New Super Mario Bros. Especially cause if you saw the trailer, that game is practically done. they showed off a very large number of worlds and gameplay and it looks like the finished product to me.

I think New Super Mario Bros. looks fun, but ridiculous that they're advertising it as an A+ title

yeah a $40 price point would do wonders for it, but since its 'the first 2d mario on a console in over 10 years' it'll be $50.

It looks too much like Little Big Planet to be revolutionary to me.

Yeah the idea is entirely stolen from littlebigplanet. But playing through the game with a friend or a girlfriend sounds great. Unfortunately, despite lilltebigplanets awesomeness, it's not Mario. People are going to be more interested in playing a Mario game than they are a sackboy game.

i wonder how many playable characters there will be.

What pisses me off is the "The wii is being maxed out for this game so we cant make it online"

    What a load of ****.

this is what really pisses me off. A rip off that will definitely outsell the originator. The fact that it'll not be online (thus making it drastically inferior to LBP) REALLY rubs me wrong.

I'd be interested if not for the monthly fee. I can't commit enough time to it to be worthwhile (where I'd feel I'd be getting value). I tried with FFXI and couldn't do it.

yeah FF11 was just painful. Far too big of a focus on party playing. Completely eliminates the quick pick-up-and-play crowd that made WOW so popular. It was practically impossible to play FF11 solo. Definitely impossible to play it solo and get anything worth a damn.

Party assembly takes time and groups are chores.

agree, but I will be one of those buying it. Playing with the wife, as someone else mentioned, is definitely a factor.

LBP seems like it was just made for the wrong console, I think it would be HUGE on Xbox or Nintendo.

    DING DING DING

Its so sad. Littlebigplanet requires such a powerful machine like the ps3, but it would have done better on the other two systems. Its so playful and colorful that the avg. ps3 owner looks at it and laughs. It would fit like a glove on the Wii. But of course the Wii couldn't handle the game itself, much less the level editor.

Wii's lack of a viable online system would cripple LBP imo... On the 360 it would have been a top seller for sure. Oh well. It is what it is. Don't get me wrong, I'll get NSMB Wii also. I just don't like the whole "Myamoto wanted to take Mario in the next step of evolution" crap.

That's the exact reason why I love Guild Wars on the PC. It allows me to play a MMORPG without the big time commitment.

IMO Guild Wars is a whole different beast from MMORPGs, its not anything like other games in that genre. There's no persistent world & is basically a web of instances.

Not bagging on the game....but its more like gutting WoW of everything except the Arena. I do like how it's free though, anytime you want to play it just install and your good to go. You can't say that about most mainstream MMORPGs.

I have high hopes for Guild Wars 2, it's going to merge what they have already done successfully in GW with a more traditional MMO style world - while still keeping it free.

I'd hope so. At this point if they didn't then they're asking to fail.
