I think you could probably do formation specific substitutions, I don't remember how much leeway you have there though.
Exact same way i felt. The motions looks stiff. Doesn't at all look like the play execution in the videos of us PWNING the pats
i agree, i was unimpressed with how it looked. To answer uncle rico's question, Pat White is the one throwing the ball in the last video. He's wearing #20, kinda weird.
Yeah, that pretty much looked awful, especially Ricky's play. And on the counter, Ronnie just sprinted right in front of the lead blocker... Weak.
Only if they fix it from last year. All I remember from '09 was having formation specific subs was far too difficult and doing them online was a task and a half.
Cool stuff. Hopefully Miami has a variety of wildcat plays, especially with Pat White being a Dolphin. Miami better have all/most of the games WC plays in the game, we're the ones who brought the ****ing thing back to the NFL... I really hope they get more passing plays. Making it a mostly running formation would hamper it. I also hope they have the tailback next to Ronnie/Pat like a regular shotgun. One thing that worries me if blitzing. Play action's worst enemy is well executed blitz and the WC can be crushed in the regard (both running and passing, but mostly running I would think). This is why it's important the WC has balance. Thanks gish.
Oh, and Pat White is wearing number 20 likely because they haven't figured out the kinks in subbing for the wildcat. In madden you can't sub a WR at running back (unless the specific formation calls for WR at RB, Gish mastered this a while ago with Larry Fitz) or sub a WR at TE... As of right now, I imagine WR/QB cannot be subbed into the Wildcat QB position and they just created Pat White as a RB in the interest of showing the video (RB can only number 20-49 in the NFL and Madden) demo.
Looks great! can't wait to try it out!! Sure hope theres more than just 3 or 4 plays though! Especially with the addition of White, hopefully they plan accordingly and put some extra passing plays in there.
i am disappointed with the approach they took in making this. why not interview David Lee and get some pointers? What about the flea flicker? Thats the play I want the most. What about the 3 RB Shotgun play with playaction draw to Ricky, and Cobbs as a lead blocker for Ronnie? Where's the reverse we ran to Cobbs against KC? Where's the play where Ricky was going to throw the ball? Where's the play where Ronnie made an insane throw and then the receiver fumbled it? Bottom line: If they only give Miami 4 plays from the wildcat, then its not going to be effective. There will be clues that give it away. If you figure out a defense that stops the 3 runs, then all you have to do is user a defender to stop the playaction pass, and its done. EA needs to realize that the wildcat is not a formation, it's a scheme. Just like the Pats run a spread passing scheme, the Dolphins run a spread running scheme. It's the answer to 8 in the box. 4 plays does it no justice. Watch Ea give us like 3 passing plays from the wildcat, and then Pat White comes out and demonstrates like 20 plays that haven't been seen yet. Meanwhile, we won't be able to use the Dolphins to their strengths in Madden because they won't give us the ability to create plays. Their being like the soup nazi on this issue, and it gets on my nerves. "No plays for you!!"
Gish, it's a demo... Calm yourself... Anyone notice PW stepping up in the pocket next to a DL and the DL not randomly making a sack? Blocking may be awesome this year... finally.
dammit. i just had an 80 yard wildcat run with Pat White for a TD and the game froze right before halftime and I didnt get to save it. It was effing awesome.
This should be the best year to play as Miami in madden in quite some time. I do remember back when we traded for Ricky he was a beast, but this year should something else entirely. I played with Miami when online about 80% of the time as it was.
