i'am not a fan of going running back at #13, too much talent that could fall due to all the trading, in places that have suffered for far too long. effective running backs can be picked up anywhere in the draft.

 

What we really need is a Kicker!!

I'm not sure this will change much, 2 teams that were already ahead of us swapped spots, seeing as how they just signed Bradford to 22 million fully guaranteed over the next 2 years, they probably won't take a QB, and another QB probably not be taken until SF, so I think it just makes the #2 QB destination interesting.

Also, it looks like Cleveland was not sold on either of the top 2 QBs.

 

You don't trade away all those future picks for a position other than QB.

 

OK I see it as a plus for RB at 13 because the Browns have Crowell, and got Duke Johnson last year. Maybe they are targeting Hargreaves though?

 

They signed Bradford last month, and there are those that think this is a weak QB draft, and Bosa or Tunsil might be there focus, but I do agree that you don't give up that many picks unless you are drafting a QB, but at the same time, I don't think either of the top 2 QBs are worth that.

It will be interesting to see what their plan is.

that shows that 17 good backs were taken 1st round, and 17 good ones after the first round. Kinda proves you can get a good back later.

 

You can definitely get a good back later, but the math gets sketchy, 1st round has 32 picks, the rest of the draft avgs over 32 picks per round, so math wise, 17 good backs out of 320 1st round picks, compared to 17 good backs out of something over 2000 picks.

Then you have to take into consideration the amount of RBs taken in the first round, which is not a heck of a lot over the past 10 years especially(just guessing, but I'll bet that over the last 10 years the 1st round has the fewest RBs taken on a per round basis), and the massive amount of RBs taken everywhere else, and although you can get quality later in the draft, it's still a total crap shoot.

A lot of folks say that "you can just draft a RB later", and while that is true, it's pretty random, it's not a thing you can rely on, and the math proves that out pretty emphatically.

 

We'll see which QB the Eagles end up with but overall I'm impressed with what they've done so far, if Goff or Wentz look good for them then Roseman is executive of the year, he moved up in the 1st and 4th rounds, unloading 2 bad contracts in the deals and just as importantly he gave up no picks to move up...he kept them so he could put together a package enticing enough to get Cleveland to part with #2. And he still has a trade chip in Sam Bradford to recoup one/some of the picks he gave away. In 1 offseason he undid a bunch of Chip Kelly's mistakes and got the franchise QB.
