Is this a recent thing? If it is, you may want some medical advice.

It could be nothing or it could be an mild infection. You may have drainage issues.
For all things medical, seek the advice of a professional.

A darker color doesn't necessarily mean that you have an infection, it could just be old wax making its way out from deep inside your ear. If you have any pain, then I would suggest going to the doctor. A large amount of wax is normal in younger people, you can get drops to help clean the ear out thoroughly at any store or pharmacy. Hope that helps.

I love you Mom, you are the greatest woman that I've ever known.

I hate earwax. I mean hate it. I clean my ears at least 2-3 times a week and once a month I put peroxide in them for a deep clean. It makes cool noises and feels funny, but when I'm done with that you could eat peanuts out of my ear canal.

Go to a doc and have them clean them out.

Go to the doctor. I clean mine regularly (being a carpenter and always wearing earplugs the gunk gets pretty deep) but still have to go to the doctor every few months for the flushing.

I would try some home remedies before going to the doctor to see if you can remedy it that way, simply because the doctor's method of earwax removal, though always immediately effective, can be traumatic, depending on how sensitive your inner ears are. Regualr maintenance at home can prevent the need for a doctor's visit later on. Just don't wait until your hearing is affected.
