One of the last guys I wanted to ref the game.

how did he get a playoff game??
-
lol
-
****.
i actually think he reffed one of our games earlier in the year and we won.
i want everyone who is going to be at that game to boo the hell out of him if/when he makes a bad call. -

The crew for the early game missed at least four blatant calls, including a pretty bad pass interference call and an Arizona offsides call where the defenders were almost at the QB before the snap with no whistle.
Ed has had a few bad games this year, but he will by no means cost us anything imo.femalefinfan and cnc66 like this. -
Damn.
He has been pretty bad all year. I'd hate to lose ANOTHER game on a blown call, and I wouldn't really like to win on one either. But to be fair all the refs have been bad this year. Let's just hope for all well reffed game. -
edit:
lmfao. hochuli.
I was wrong...

It was Ed...
I remember distinctly complaining about the refs in that game...

I don't have an issue with it. He was always one of my favorite refs. All refs make their fair share of mistakes. I actually love how he didn't hide, and man'd up to his miscall. Replying back to all of his hate mail. Not many people would do that. Regardless, as long as the dolphins take care of business they will be fine.

wow...penalties have basically given the chargers this drive. 3 first downs due to penalties? And as I type this, Chargers win!

He can't be that bad, he graded good enough to make the playoffs.
Although the missed fumble at the end of the HOU game was ****. But the idiots upstairs could have, but didn't review it. -
 -
Ed Hoculi is a great official, I'm for one happy to see Ed get a playoff game. If we win, it will be because we're a better team, but if we lose, we're not as good as Baltimore.
We won't win or lose because of the officials, even if they do miss a call.:up:cnc66 likes this. -

I am surprised 1st he and his crew are getting a playoff game. Maybe the NFL is going to "put the Dolphins story to rest" or so they think by torpedoing the Dolphins and Hoculiezing us.
A couple of years ago, NFL Network did a bio show on Hoculi, one of those 30 minute, "get to know the guy" shows. He's always stood out because of his physique, and of course they showed the requisite footage of him in the gym pumping out some reps. They also showed him at work in his real job, and that is as an attorney who has licences to practice in Arizona (his home state), California and NY I believe. I know they showed his homes in Phoenix (area) and in La Jolla, CA (vacation home).
Because of that I am surprised they didn't assign Hoculi and his crew, who are West Coast guys, to either the Indy vs SD or the Atlanta vs Cards games yesterday. Why fly them all the way across the US ??? -
I like fish head ED.. He is a good ref who had a bad year...imo.

Before this year, I never heard any more against Hoculi then any other ref. I would even be happy when I saw him at games. I had alot of confidence in him and his crew. Not going to change that because he had a couple bad days at the office. Heck, if that happened I would be looking for work alot more then I have in my life. Everyone makes mistakes and the ones he made this year were magnified due to being on national tv and to some extent (IMO) due to the fact that he was so highly regarded as an efficient, even above average, official.
