I have never even heard of this game. I saw the demo came out then it leaked. I got it just because the name sounded cool and the IRC people had good things to say. Well, I just beat it. I loved it. It's an action adventure that takes place in a very vibrant post apocalyptic world. Very different looking for a post apocalyptic theme. It's hard to describe. The fighting is very regular god of war ish. But it isn't as fighting packed as it seems. Tons of platforming and climbing stuff. The platforming isn't hard or annoying because you can't actually jump... You go to edges and press A to launch over to predetermined locations. Sounds stupid but somehow it was really fun. Camera was annoying at times but all in all a solid adventure game that even has a cool story that wraps up well at the end. Not original, but they pull it off.

Not sure I'd drop $60 on this, but definitely a rental or a bargain bin buy.

I've had it on pre-order for a while because my fiance has been clamoring for it.

Yea, but my fiance and I have been playing through the new Borderlands DLC & I've been playing NBA 2k11. She'll probably start playing it next week while I'm out of town.

This is the game where you play as the monkey-looking guy and have to escort a stereotypical spunky woman on a mission, right?

The previews looked great. Not sure if I’m going to pick it up.

she's actually not stereo typical or spunky at all. Besides the character's names, I think they're really well thought out

This demo was impressive, better than Quantum theory, but Castlevania seemed better in every capacity.

So I just finished this game, and honestly I freakin loved it.

I'm not one to usually get attached to a story line or actually enjoy the characters, but this game did an amazing job with it. I actually found myself laughing at the dialogue A LOT (which usually I don't do), and actually feeling for the characters. The developers did a fantastic job with providing background to the characters and showing them grow throughout the game.

The combat is fine, it's very similar to a Prince of Persia/God of War type game (only a few 'moves', beat the baddies, collect the experience orbs, lots of platforming)
The platforming is fine, and even though the camera angle seems to all of a sudden switch on your mid platform-jumping combo, it isn't a huge deal because the game doesn't let you jump to your death very often (like in Assassin's Creed).

I managed to get this game on a good deal, so if anyone sees a deal on it this thanksgiving, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend it. And quite honestly, I'm ecstatic that I only payed $25 for this game. Having played it through I wouldn't have minded paying 40 or maybe even full price for it.

The ending was good, my only beef was that you had to kill the final boss about 17 times, but hey, just lengthens the game right? There's a moral question at the end of the game (though sadly it doesn't let you choose your ending.. it would have been a bit better had it let me make a last second decision and given you different endings, but this wasn't a choose your own adventure game by any means before that either)

all in all, I think it very much deserves the high ratings it got from reviews on IGN and the like, hopefully you can see for yourself if you get the chance

EDIT: forgot to mention that the environments are beautiful for the most part. It's a much more 'soothing' take on the post-apocalyptic world. While in most games where everything is bleak and brown, this game shows what the world would actually look like given the disappearance of man, with nature taken over and greening up all the cities. very easy on the eyes
