I agree, there will always be people that complain, however, they aren't taken seriously, anyone who says Marino "wasn't good enough" isn't worth the time debating with.

True, but I also find many people here not the time worth debating with.

You're going to have to work harder to sell that argument though.

Not sure about the rankings but GB was without crucial pieces in the secondary. You MUST consider that. Plus, Denver gave up 35 points at home, which is far from being a great defense. Furthermore, against Jacksonville--one of the supposedly weak AFC South opponents Luck gets to beat up on--Miami's offense didn't have a ton of success.

I keep hearing that Houston's defense is good. So if that's the case and Miami struggled against Jacksonville, I'm inclined to believe that in reality, Andrew Luck is facing some decent competition.

And with the success Tannehill and the offense had against GB, Denver and NE, it's not like they faced dominant defenses. What Miami faced were good teams, not necessarily elite defenses that could shut Miami down.

You have to be careful trying to make that argument. It's not a black/white thing. I think that the AFC South is weaker as a whole but heavily based around he fact that Houston, Jacksonville and Tennessee all had awful offenses that couldn't help out their defense one bit when necessary.

It's certainly not like Tannehill has had to face dominant defenses while Luck hasn't. I don't believe necessarily think it's as stacked as 11 to 4 as you claim.

Nah, I understand perfectly, there is things called threads, depending on thread subject, in this instance, its about two QBs and which one is the better QB and your ttalking about the Colts Run Defense, makes zero sense as it has nothing to do with Andrew Lucks QB play or Ryan Tannehills QB play. Try again bud.

Did pff have to offer an explanation as to why Wilson is ahead of Luck too or just Tannehill?

Don't know, nor does it matter. PFF didn't have to do anything. But to your normal fan, who looks at wins and losses to determine which QB is better, they apparently felt the need to explain their ranking.

Apparently you didn't understand their explanation.

He doesn't have to sell anything. Miami played 9 games against top 10 total defense teams, 2 against #13 (Cheatriots), #14 (Minnesota) and another against #15 (GB). And what you think of Denver doesn't matter...they were #3 in total defense...that sounds like it fits "great" to me. So that's 13 games against the defenses in the top half of the league in total defense.

Indy doesn't have a top half of the league defense in its division (except themselves at #11), Miami has FOUR. They played against the Broncos and Ravens for top 10 total defenses (2 games vs. Miami's 9). Every other game was against bottom half of the league defenses, except one (#13 Cheatriots)...so in total, we have:

Miami: 13 games vs top half; 9 games vs top 10
Indy: 3 games vs top half; 2 games vs top 10

    No difference though right?

I agree 100%. I'm only illustrating that it's not as simple as comparing numbers.

There's some talk about how OL and DL aren't relevant in judging QBs, which is garbage. In three years Miami has the same record vs EJ Manuel, Thai Lewis and Kyle Orton as they do vs Tom Brady. So I'm totally with you. The discussion needs to expand past the black and white. Unfortunately many aren't wiling or able to do that. Like Rafael said, a lot of folks here aren't worth debating with. I know you to be a insightful guy and I enjoy reading your posts. But overall I do not see Luck as vastly superior to Tannehill. Ryan will face the AFCE and NFCE as Luck did last year so the results will tell much of the story.

You guys must feel real cute with your slights and insults, your mad because I pointed out the fact you brought Colts Run D into this thread and it has nothing to do with them. Your the type of person that probably says we are gonna win the SB every year, again, keep your homer rants coming cool guy, they make me laugh. You think your a quality poster because of extreme homerism.

There's three or four of you in this thread, tossing insults, and being incredibly condescending...and you're going to play victim when it gets done back to you?

You certainly don't seem interested in any sort of balanced look at Tannehill. You just want to paint him as negatively as possible, and then berate those who don't think your evaluation is accurate.

There's certainly not a chasm between the two...can argue either way, and I can see both sides, but their careers will speak for themselves when it's all said and done.

Geno Smith has the same number of 4th q comebacks and game winning drives as Tannehill. In one and a half seasons. Lol.

I like Tannehill and am riding him in two leagues because I believe he will get me
Points although he was one of the worst consistency wise, of QBs who finished top 10 in scoring. Fantasy doesn't mean anything except this points to a consistency issue.

But anyway, I trust tanny will accumulate yardage and TDs. But geno smith? That's a terrible statistic in an amusing way

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you the guy that said decent guards don't want to sign here because Tannehill will make them look bad? Aren't you the one that said people outside Miami don't even know who Tannehill is?

And the one year Brady didn't play is because he got a season ending injury due to having a horrific OL.

No coincidence that since then the Patriots have made sure they do everything possible to keep Brady upright.

So in only his 4th year as a starting QB (including college) and in a brand new system with an OL that ranked near the bottom of the league he still managed to post a QBR of over 90 while playing the vast majority of his schedule against the top 15 defenses in the league.

    Yeah, this guy sucks.

He got hurt in the opening game that year on a fluke cheap shot by Bernard Pollard. C'mon now.

You're talking about regular season matchups against a division rival....we're not even built for December, given our recent collapses down the stretch, how are we more built for January than a team that has actually won playoff games? We can't even complete the simple task of winning more games than we lose, let alone qualify for meaningful games in January.
