I was given this essay question:

Looking at world history, identify two situations that led to the emergence of a leader. Examine which situational factors led to the emergence of that leader.

There are so many to choose from, and i thought it would be interesting to get input. So if you want to, give me you two. I am thinking of these two:

    Alexander the Great of macedonia

    Martin Luther King

    Thoughts?

hitler current economic situation allowed him to rise to power as well as the world trying to slap around the germans

queen elizabeth daughter of henry viii, she killed to get to where she got.

you could also go the route of lucky luciano an american gangster, rose to prominence after it was decided the old school gangsters werent of any use anymore.

    Just some ideas:

    Napoleon
    Franklin Roosevelt
    Hitler (already mentioned)
Martin Luther King Jr. (already mentioned)
    Joseph Stalin
    Vladimir Lenin
Moussilini (I know I misspelled that but the WWII Italian leader)

Plus I am sure I missed some.
