That characterization of his argument about Nelson's contract doesn't make sense, given how he ridicules the contract as a bad deal for Nelson. How is 4 years $14 million paying for future production from Nelson? Nelson has outperformed his deal for two seasons.

At the other end, Hartline's past production is not worth $30 million.

you still willingly miss the point. The point is, nelson was signed to a lower contract because his production wasn't there. What you are basically arguing is that they should have predicted the future and paid accordingly and not gotten a good deal.

At the time Nelson signed, considering his past production, the contract was reasonable, and actually a good deal for him. They signed him early to get a discount. Had they waited till he broke out, and had to resign him after 2011, he'd have been a lot more expensive.

No, it was the injury. Why would they assume a non proven QB would be better than Bree's who was great that season?

I think those odds are slim. Very, very slim.

At what point do we realize that Aaron Rodgers is a far better Qb atm then Tannehill and that effects Nelson's production?

I for one am quite happy BLine has returned to the fold, he's a good Wr and still has upside.

Better question is, at what point do we stop blaming Hartline's lack of special natural ability on his QB?
Aaron Rodgers didn't get Nelson drafted a few picks away from the 1st round. Jordy has great size and great natural ability, the likes Hartline will never sniff unfortunately. What makes Jordy special above and beyond Hartline is what he does both after the catch and with the ball in the air, stuff that has little to do with the QB and everything to do with Jordy. He makes himself a playmaker and doesn't need all this scapegoating nonsense.

Perhaps you need to watch Jordy work his magic with backup QB Matt Flynn so we can put an end to the excuse-making.
Here, I'll even post the video again for your ease. Sadlly it takes just one Nelson game to showcase everything Hartline can't do.

Here's all 9 catches.
#1. 0:24 (6 yard catch on a Flynn duck)
#2. 1:55 (18 yards, works open for scrambling Flynn)
#3. 2:24 (6 yards, easy throw & catch)
#4. 5:05 (12 yards, great concentration with defender draped on Jordy pulling him down)
#5. 5:36 (7 yard TD, stiff arms defender to ground. All RAC) Hartline gets tackled for a 1 yard loss. #6. 8:38 (36 yard TD, catches 50-50 ball over defender in EZ)
#7. 10:34. (5 yard easy quick pass)
#8. 10:47. (15 yards, creates a bunch of separation making for an easy throw. 5 yards of RAC)
#9. 11:17. (57 yard TD, contested coverage, doesn't fall down after catch, not caught from behind. Jordy made this play.)

Non bold is the day Hartline would've had--- 6 catches, 44 yards, 0 TD (perhaps he catches #4 and ends with 7 catches, 56 yards).
Bold is what Jordy added on his own, regardless of QB--- 3 extra catches, 117 extra yards, 3 extra TDs.

this might be the first thing we agree on phinsational but everyone the whole time B Marshall was here we need a 2nd wr to help him out and he drops to many tds. Now Hartline magically has never had any help and we need to get him help pfft give me a break guy is trashola.

stop. just stop, you're making a fool of yourself. anybody with eyes and half a brain knows Rodgers is a far better QB than Tannehill, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Jordy is bigger, stronger, quicker, faster, more explosive, oh and not to mention a better route runner with better hands than Hartline. there is no comparison, they aren't similar in any way, shape, or form except for the complexion of their skin.

it's almost as silly as comparing Hartline to Jennings.

Butler died in 2003. Look at his moves the first few years.
