KFFL's lists are almost always out of date. Ricky Williams was resigned how long ago, and he's still on there?

I would love having to spend 2 days trying to learn how to spell and pronounce Oshiomogho Atogwe's name. He's a ball hawk.

I didn't really state the purpose of this thread.

Who would you like to pick up in FA that will realistically be there?

    I thought of Atogwe

Atogwe finished the 2008 season with 82 tackles (75 solo), six forced fumbles, and five interceptions in 16 games.

but the rams will probably keep him.

I thought of Asomugha (who hasn't?) and the Raiders will probably keep him.

I'm thinking that we may be drafting a corner with one of the three (maybe the second 2).. that is if things remain gravy w/the front office.

All the Rams fans just call him OJ :wink2:

He's a stud for sure. Had the most fumble related stats out of any body in the league (6 FF, 3 FR IIRC)
He's a ball hawk, and maybe the 3rd best safety in the league.

Suggs form baltimore if possible. As long as he appologizes to ronnie, and its written in his contract he must do so.

Wouldn't mind Chris Gamble too. I think he's a good corner.

Here are my top 5 wants (using the scout.com list) that I think are somewhat possible:
    1. Karlos Dansby, MLB
    2. OJ Atogwe, FS
    3. Sean Jones, SS
    4. Jason Brown, C
    5. Kevin Burnett, MLB

I really want Kevin Burnett from the cowboys but he wasn't on either FA list, so I don't know if he'll have to be cut or what.

You won't be getting Brown. I think he's way more likely to be signed than Suggs.

He can play End in a 4-3 though, which Porter can't really, and he's easily versatile enough to play on the other side, he gets moved all over the place on our D. We had him at corner for a play or two a while back.

Not interested in any on the scout.com list.

And to someone earlier; yes, Gamble got a 6 year extension.

Dansby, Suggs, Scott, OJ would all be good pickups. Keeping Crowder and Bell hopefully.

Ashmougha if he somehow hit the market would be #1 ofc, but doubtful.

*edit* Antonio Bryant. Some will say he played well simply in a contract year, but he flat out dominated this year. Id rather say hes finally hitting his stride. Possibly a hit or miss guy, but hes easily the best WR out there inc. TJ.

    No, get Sean Jones instead.

Will get just as many tackles, and actually will make plays in the passing game.

I don't mean to lecture, but *every* 3-4 OLB in the league plays DE. In fact, I'll go so far as to claim most of them have the majority of their sacks coming as defensive ends. For those of you who were critical of the coaching staff lining Porter up as DE last year, he had 11 sacks in formations with 4-man lines.

I don't think either Suggs or Joey Porter will accept nickel/dime only package, and neither of them are fits for playing strongside OLB. When the defensive staff was looking at candidates to fill the position, they tried to convert 280-290 pound defensive linemen.

Bell has made tons of plays in the passing game. Multiple, huge, clutch ones. They simply have been deflections rather than interceptions.

I think you are also forgetting the fact that Yeremiah Bell spends a significant amount of time playing linebacker, rather than safety in passing situations, where he normally would get most interceptions.

Ok, change plays to turnovers. That is what I meant, I apologize.

And no, I am not forgetting that he plays in the box a lot, also in passing downs. Nor do I think that him playing back would lead to him getting more interceptions seeing as how he has managed 1 his entire career out of 26 defensed passes (as an example, Jason Allen has managed 5 picks in far fewer plays while only having 8 passes defensed, but I will admit JA does really only get time in passing situations). Sean Jones has 14 picks and 25 pds as another example.

Also, part of the reason he has so many tackles is because he plays up so often, so that should be factored in if you think he'd have more picks if he didn't play up so much.

I really liked Suggs...BEFORE that game. I can't remember the last time I blew my stack that fast watching what he did. It was a gutless, punk move. He really is a top player and almost EXACTLY what we need from a DE/LB. I just can't get over what a crappy cheap play that was.

Sean Jones is a great second option; we desperately need a DB with ball hawk skills.

Looking at that list it just seems weird when they hold the Scouting Combine. I think if I were an NFL exec I would try to push it back later, say early to mid March.

Why?? Its simple it would allow the players more time to train and thus less time to sit back and relax and get out of shape (like some players do, typically OL and DL).

Also the Senior Bowl should take place after the Super Bowl. If you are still in the playoffs most of your attention should be on the current year rather than the Senior Bowl. I know most teams have many scouts and it really doesn't bother them, but it just seems to me like a unusual scheduling that could easily be improved.

I really doubt they let him walk over turnovers when he does the rest of his job so well. Free safety is the spot that should be putting up the INT numbers, and that is the real weak spot

I know! Didn't represent ASU very well there, that's for sure. I was pissed off.

I would be pleased with TJH and drafting a receiver somewhat early. Pennington would utilize TJ Housh nicely. All depends on how much he's demanding though.

I feel the same, however if he was in a phins uni and did that to maroney or lynch or jones, i don't think i would mind as much

I don't think sparano would let him get away with that type of actions in the first place if he did become a phin. They are being taught respect here, which seems to be lacking in Maryland, where coinicidentally Ray lewis leads the group.
