It was strategy, but seeing him smiling on the sidelines afterwards pissed me off. Either way though it was a cheap way, even if you think its a "smart" move.

 

BBelichick has been doing it every year and I always call it out, but people think I am crazy for even broaching the notion...Good to see some press about it lol...Yes it was a fake because their defense was gassed.

Not sure if anyone else saw it but I read Bart Scott's lips before or after (now I forget when) the B.Edwards TD and he seemingly told Rex: "You got to do something" ie get us off the field quick.
Edit: It was definitely after Marshall's TD on that long drive. They were sucking for air on the sideline and the commentators were pointing it out.

 

i thought it was a typical rex ryan move. i'm sure he dedicates time in practice to give people ideas like this. i think "holding" needs to be in this discussion as well. is that strategic on their part? i can think of at least 4 plays where we clearly had the offensive lineman beat and could have taken sanchez out of the game.

As I pointed out in another thread...you thought it was bad how we covered Keller...Being in NE, I see all their games and they have two (emphasis added) rookie TEs in Hernandez and Gronkowski playing like all pros. it's done all the time and we could have done the same thing. If there was a legitimate way to determine a fake injury, then by all means, make it illegal. but I hardly doubt that could be determined in a few seconds so it will be something we just have to live with.

 

Its a "smart move" because there's nothign that says its illegal. However, that said, its cheap. Extremely cheap. However, I'd expect nothing less from Rex Ryan and the Jets.

It was very clearly a fake injury. These things are becoming an epidemic. Arizona State had something like 26 injury timeouts Saturday night against Oregon because they couldn't slow the Oregon offense down. But how do you regulate it? How do you determine what's a real injury and what's a fake injury? How do you penalize it? It's something that has to be discussed, but there's no easy fix for it.

Faking injury to pick up extra time definitely wasn't invented anytime recently....it's happened in every sport you could think of that requires time outs.

That helmet to helmet shot on Ronnie by Harris was also a "missed" call even though it was a blatant shot. Jets got lucky with a good number of calls last night.

I thought it was a good strong wrap up tackle. When you get hit like that your entire body feels it. I wouldn't of called it, but since the Clemons hit was called, this should've been called to maintain some consistency.

 

Their helmets collided on the Ronnie hit. So if they called the other one they should definitely have called that. They don't care about RBs apparently.

Rex was desperate to get a win against us. There's nothing he wouldn't have done.

 

During at least one game this season, and for every season hereafter, the Miami Dolphins will fake an injury, take extra time to get off the field, or have a kicker or punter flop after being touched, or some other non-illegal form of gamesmanship will occur, as they are coached to do so. And as sure as the sun will rise, many of the complainers on this board will forget what they said if it leads to a Dolphins win. It is part of the game. This has become ThePHINSexcuses.com forum.

 

Truthfully, I hate the Jets more than any other team in the NFL but it was plainly obvious that they got screwed on several ref calls. There's a hundred thing we can complain about after that loss, but the refs weren't one of them.....they helped Miami more than they hurt.
