Philadelphia Eagles general manager Tom Heckert is scheduled to interview Monday with team officials and there is a strong sense in league circles that the veteran talent scout will go into the session as the front-runner for the job. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3184650&campaign=rss&source=NFLHeadlines It would be a very good move, I know many here wanted him as GM.
Randy Mueller is available. He can go there and draft all the runningback's he wants, pass on a quarterback like Brees and take a quarterback like Daunte Culpepper, etc. Can't really think, I'm sure I can come up with some more if I wasn't so sick.
You DO know that those personnel moves you just mentioned were ALL Saban's choices? Saban had final say and Mueller had none.
I'm pretty sure Brees' was Saban's guy, Daunte was Mueller's guy. As far as the running backs part, I'm talking history here. With the Saints, he drafted Ricky Williams and then came Deuce McAllister not too long after. Here, we get Ronnie Brown then he falls in love with Adrian Peterson [had Adrian fallen down the draft, he would be a Dolphin right now; besides, with the exception of Peterson's father being convicted a few times, Adrian has a nice family]. Then if we kept him around this year, Darren McFadden in Miami, no doubt.
