obviously a reboot. but is this just a reboot by Fox, or is Marvel involved which hopefully raises the odds that it won't suck like last two FF movies. and while I have no problem with black human torch, what is up with the casting for Ben Grimm? http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/27/entertainment/fantastic-four-reboot-trailer-feat/index.html
On a somewhat related note (Disney-Marvel connection) looks like Disney is going to reboot the Indiana Jones franchise and potentially get Chris Pratt to play the role. http://deadline.com/2015/01/chris-pratt-indiana-jones-guardians-of-the-galaxy-disney-1201360637/
So are the Invisible Woman and the Human Torch not brothers now in the reboot? (if one is black and the other not)
looking at the Wiki page, apparently this reboot has nothing to do with previous backgrounds of Fantastic four. although, it still lists teh actors' roles as Johnny and Sue Storm. not sure if that is good or bad. the comic book enthusiasts be a bit cynical. and Dr Doom isn't the leader of Latveria (sp?)
I feel like maybe they should have just titled the movie something else based on what you pasted, and not called it Fantastic Four.
I believe that either one is going to be adopted or it is going to be one of those situations where parents remarry. It is actually pretty common now days.
This movie appears to be an absolute abomination. Apparently it's based on the "Ultimates" imprint which nobody really knows or cares about. And I have no problem with a black johnny Storm either. but then why not just make Sue black as well? Why do we have to suffer the "sister from another mother" jokes you know are coming? Marvel is apparently so incensed by what Fox is doing to the FF that they are literally cancelling their longest running comic.
casting Doom as an anti-social programmer is the ultimate F.U. to Marvel. I realize they are trying to ground the story, but that just lacks imagination IMO.
Yeah, it's stupid. If you want to be progressive and such, make Sue black and still in a romance with Reed. You still don't see many interracial couples in media, so it would be a big deal.
I've got no problems with the casting at all. This trailer, however, makes the movie look like a dark Sci-fi movie rather than a comic book movie... I'm sure I'll probably see it eventually, but, so far, it doesn't seem sufficiently "comicy."
