I have a team in Yahoo FFB that's pretty heavy in Dolphins, and I'm doing well! Starting Tanny, Miller, Clay, Sturgis, and the D against Atlanta this week (and I have Ryan, Julio and Gonzales!). I'll never start players against my team...just can't do it...probably a good thing I don't FFB for $$$. Anywhooz...here's a few tidbits about the players in this matchup from Yahoo's FFB dudes: Ryan Tannehill - Falcons lack a pass rush and are dealing with a number of key injuries on defense and other than not throwing TDs, he's looked great. - Atlanta has given up the 6th most fantasy points to Quarterbacks this season. Matt Ryan - Teams are attempting 48 yard passes against the fins because they can't run on them so that should be the case this week plus they're vulnerable against the tight end. - Miami has given up the 12th fewest fantasy points to Quarterbacks this season. Lamar Miller - The Falcons do have some key injuries on defense and Miller could be helped by some downfield plays but playing time and snap total still fairly low. - Atlanta has given up the 13th fewest fantasy points to Running Backs this season. Jacquizz Rodgers - He was the guy who took over for Jackson last week but Snelling looked better and the matchup is brutal so the best you can hope for is 4-5 catches. - Miami has given up the 9th most fantasy points to Running Backs this season. Brian Hartline - The Falcons lack of pass rush and their safeties are not exactly cover guys so could come through again if you need him. - Atlanta has given up the 10th most fantasy points to Wide Receivers this season. Mike Wallace - Big game last week catching 9 of his 10 targets and the Falcons are vulnerable to big plays with no pass rush and box players at S. Roddy White - Another underwhelming game last week with 3/21 on 3 targets so he remains an avoid player for now. - Miami has given up the 6th fewest fantasy points to Wide Receivers this season. Julio Jones - Incredibly active last week with 14 targets and he obviously went off and the Falcons should have to lean heavily on the pass. Charles Clay - Produced with 5/109 on 7 targets last week and this is a very solid matchup if desperate. - Atlanta has given up the 16th most fantasy points to Tight Ends this season. Tony Gonzalez - Miami is getting crushed by opposing TEs and giving up the 2nd most points to the position thus far. - Miami has given up the 3rd most fantasy points to Tight Ends this season. (WTF? 2nd then 3rd?) Miami D/ST - Pretty good defense and a decent enough potential at home but Ryan generally takes care of the ball. - Atlanta has given up the 4th fewest fantasy points to Team Defenses this season. Atlanta D/ST - The Dolphins are getting sacked 4+ times a game but the Falcons lack a pass rush and have injuries on defense. - Miami has given up the 7th most fantasy points to Team Defenses this season. Nothing earth-shattering or revolutionary there. They're focused on fantasy points so some of these statements are not in sync with actual game play, just fun to look at IMO. I think they're sleeping on Clay. Whatchall think? I'd say the head-to-head QB comparison bodes well, but (as we all know) the TEs could rule the day.
Miller breaks a big run this week. Gonzalez vs Wheeler/Ellerbe/Jones a huge key to this game. If Jimmy Wilson can play at least average, or only slightly below, we have a good chance of winning.
