Since the NFL adopted its current playoff format 20 years ago, 64.1 percent of teams that open with two straight victories go to the playoffs.
But of the 167 teams to start 2-0, only nine of them did it on the road.
The Miami Dolphins became the 10th this year.
Believe it or not, the chances for reaching the postseason don't go up much when a team starts 2-0 and still has all eight home games left -- 66.7 percent. Less than half of them went on to win their divisions.
With help from the Elias Sports Bureau, here are the nine teams that have opened the season 2-0 on the road since 1990 with their final records:
2009 Minnesota Vikings 12-4*
2006 New Orleans Saints 10-6*
2004 Seattle Seahawks 9-7*
2003 Denver Broncos 10-6
2001 St. Louis Rams 14-2*
1999 Pittsburgh Steelers 6-10 (no playoffs)
1997 Minnesota Vikings 9-7
1994 Seattle Seahawks 6-10 (no playoffs)
1991 Phoenix Cardinals 4-12 (no playoffs)
* won the division
