Facts: Favre never gets injured. Players on the Madden cover always get injured. Favre is on the cover of Madden. Something has got to give. What's it gonna be?
Seriously the Madden curse has already struck. It actually turned on EA since they are now shipping out Maddens with Favre in a GB uniform. Then if you want to look at it from Favre's point of view I think you can see where he has been cursed as his team for 17 years sent him packing. The madden curse lives already.
To add to that, the Jets made him run a lap for fumbling a snap. Everybody knows that Favre is not suppose to do that type of stuff.
He is above doing those petty things. Mangenius should be fired for having the gall to do such a thing.
Curious... has there ever been a madden cover that was not on the same team he was featured as on the cover for that year, before now? Maybe Favre BREAKS the Madden curse by doing so... hmmm.
Favre can get off on a technicality. The Favre on the cover wears a Green Bay jersey and he wears a Jets jersey now. Though, I guess you could say Favre's reputation suffered a tremendous injury. It'd be the equivalent of fracturing every bone in the body.
I believe he wants to be treated like everyone else on the team. You can't win the loyalty of your new team by getting special treatment.
No since 2001 Madden covers have used players. The first was Eddie George in 2001, Daunte Culpepper in 2002, Marshall Faulk in 2003, Mike Vick in 2004, Ray Lewis in 2005, Donavan McNabb in 2006, Shaun Alexander in 2007, and Vince Young in 2008. So no it has never happened until this year and Favre has broke yet another record. Plus all those cover athletes were off the top of my head. Yes I am that big of a nerd.
Favre does get hurt, he just plays when injured and cost's his team wins because stats mean so much to him. the guy is the biggest stat hound i've ever seen.
The Madden Curse has never lost. That said, at least the real Madden will send Favre a turducken this Thanksgiving as consolation.

Brett Favre gave us Chad Pennington. Depending how Chad does, I will either love or hate Favre. If anyone can break the Madden curse, its Favre. Madden and Favre go together like priests and little boys. Even Favre's style of play is like Madden. A lot of Madden players often defy convention and throw the ball into suicidal coverage. Favre has a knack for going out with an interception. Perhaps this year he can go out with an injury and an INT on the same play!!!
