NT Jason Ferguson has been a difference maker in the Dolphins’ run defense this season, despite making just 11 tackles and being slowed down by a chest injury he sustained in Week Seven.

That one made me crack up. Was the name of their source possibly Mr. Common Sense? Or Lord Stating the Freaking Obvious? Maybe Sir Who Would've Guessed? That's some great piece of journalism ... hillarious.

Yeah that had me rolling too. It looks like we will be looking at FA or the draft to bring someone in. It will be interesting to see what happens with Soliai.

I was already betting we would take someone in next years draft to groom as the future NT. Solia has played better thus year so far, but even Randy Starks has eaten into his playing time when Ferguson is out. Really have to be looking at guys like SenDerrick Marks, BJ Raji, Jerry Peria, Ron Brace etc.

Say what you want about needing another pass rushing OLB, but without the big boy in the middle to stop the run game when are you going to get the chance to rush the passer?

Considering the FOs success with late round NTs (Ratliff, Ferguson), I'd wager the guess that they'll bring in a late round prospect and have Ferguson start another season. He's still playing solid ball but they really need a young guy to groom as I doubt Soliai is the answer. Could well see him getting cut in the offseason.

All are impressive. Terrance Cody as well. I wouldn't complain ending up with any of those guys or a guy like Evander Hood.

Don't forget, they seem to be high on Toribio, from the PS, also. He may come on next year and take over Soliai's spot on the roster. Stranger things have happened in the NFL, you know.

Good point Brother! We will have to see how much he has progressed and how the coaches feel about him.

He was. He's not a Dolphin anymore according to the Wiki and Yahoo's Green Bay Packers roster.

We'll get a guy I'm not concerned. Ferg is there short term and what is important is at the moment we do have a guy.

I could see a high pick next year being used at NT. Seems to be a very valuable position in the 3-4 (being super obvious to have parrallesim with the article :))

Ferg has been huge for us this year, i was surprised to read he has just 11 tackles. I havent really tracked his stats this year, but i figured as strong as our run D has been that he had more than 11 tackles. wow.

I wonder if we can get Tim Bowens to come out of retirement.

Any surprise that with him went the defensive superiority of the Dolphins? The guy was a stud in the middle.

The triangle of NT and the two inside LBers is very important to a 3/4 defense.
