John Hughes, the Chicago-based filmmaker who redefined the teen movie in the '80s with his sympathetic comedies about the joys and heartbreak of high school life, died Thursday of a heart attack in New York. He was 59. They were talking about this guy on the ticket here yesterday I honestly didn't recognize his name, but then they mentioned 16 candles, Breakfast Club and of course one of my top 5 of all times, Ferris Bueller.
