We can hope he will take a look at the turn around that is happening right now and leaves it to Parcells and Co. to continue before he tries anything crazy.
Stephen Ross is a lifetime Dolphins fan. I don't think he is going to come in and start screwing up all the success we have started to have. I almost feel like he will be hands off much like Huizenga is/was.
Wayne has been perfect hands off in every football aspect except the most important..he is hands on when it comes to investing into the team (new locker room and training facility for players, big screen for fans, etc) especially with key contracts, FA checks, etc. Wayne's only knock in my opinion is not selling this horrific stadium to the Marlins and City of Miami, and working to build our beloved Dolphins a football only Orange Bowl II type environment. Maybe, we get lucky and Ross copies WH's style - continues to invest wisely, lets his football folks do their thing, and maybe just maybe get a new proper stadium.
please elaborate why? I seen a couple say this with no substance other than a popular poster before them said it. I know next to nothing of the dude so any insight would be helpful, i am not one to jump on a popular consensus without knowing the facts first.
I think Ross will be great. From everything I've read about him he's always been a big Dolphins fan and he's committed to being a constant winner. What more can you want?
BIG DOG!!! i love the way you think...ca you send thoughts to mr. ross please. The Orange Bowl 2.......DAMN i want that.
I also think that he would be a great owner, but what make me a little concerne is that Ross also made an unsuccessful bid in 1999 for the Jets. I'm just hoping that he really care about the Dolphins and he's not your typical guy with a lot of money that he needs a big toy, to help him to fight the mid- life crisis.....
My concern about Ross is that he maybe quite leveraged financially, as he has some Billion Dollar projects that have been stalled in the last couple months with this current economy. One in AZ and the other LA I think. With that he may not have operating capital to follow in Wayne's footsteps and spend spend spend on upgrading this team and may need to add partners. As a person I am sure he will be fine, he is from this area, is a Dolphin's fan and even if he wasn't, that is no reason for worry, see Zigy Wilf for the Vikes who is a lifelong Giants fan, as owners in general are egotists and will do anything to get their team to win. Some do it well like WH and others not so well, Al Davis.
Good to see Wayne H get some credit, to me he was a great owner who let some bad people drive the Franchise.. As for Ross, I think he will be fine, typically NFL Franchises are cash cows, and we are a youngish team way beneath the salary cap.
