Dolphins | Have offered Incognito a contract Comment (0) Tue, 16 Mar 2010 19:19:13 -0700 Armando Salguero, of The Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins have offered a contract to free-agent OG Richie Incognito (Bills), according to a source. The two sides are continuing to talk. http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl#ixzz0iOfCvyLq Welcome to the RG battle Richie!
Hope they can control his penchant for penalties. Otherwise I like his nasty streak, have to wonder if he's got the goods to displace one of our current starters at Guard or if he's just solid backup.
like the nasty streak too pencil him in behind smiley if he signs justin cant stay on the field incognito could be the new kevin gogan
don't get? why? what does he bring to the table, other than personal problems, that we don't already have on the offensive line? this is the most bewildering acquisition, if it goes through, to date. the guy is trouble, he's not going to start & we already have depth. should be addressing the defensive line & backfield not the offensive guard position. must be a very special contract they offered this loser under extenuating, unknown circumstances. guess we'll see how it all pans out soon enough. got to be more to this story
I'd rather they put Incognito at #2 Center, so Joe Berger can take a Guard spot without having to practice both.
Low risk high reward type of guy here. The guy can push for a starting spot and can add some much needed intensity to a line that, while talented, doesn't seem to have much of an attitude about themselves. And if he acts up, the contract will be structured as such that cutting him won't really hurt us much. You can never have too much depth across the line. We had so many guys hurt during the second half of the season that it looked like we were going to have to pull from other positions mid game just to play o-line. Of course, the problem is that Incognito has an injury history on top of his temperment issues. But still, he has talent and can play when his head is on straight. We aren't breaking the bank for him like we did Dansby so I am all for it.
right cause everyone has a short damn memory nate garner came in never snapped the football berger was hurt grove was hurt panthers game right
so you were okay with a LT snapping the football jesus man we have to have more depth in the interior OL come on now keep up smiley was hurt as a 49er and still cant stay healthy
stop pretending you're not gonna be the first guy in line to buy an INCOGNITO jersey. the name itself is worth signing him.
You act like thats a bad thing? Look at the teams/coaches hes played for. Losing cultures/environments have a bad effect on players. I mean hes always been a little nuts going back to his time at Nebraska but with a czar like Sparano who knows how to crack the whip a bit, he will either fall in line or he will be out of the nfl. And he has talent so its worth a shot in my opinion.
this is from his wikipedia page: On November 4, 2009, Sports Illustrated polled 296 NFL players and found Incognito to be the seventh dirtiest player in the NFL behind players such as Hines Ward, Albert Haynesworth, and Joey Porter,[11] a distinction stemming from multiple on the field incidents over the years that have resulted in numerous personal fouls and fines. In one such game on Oct. 12, 2008, against the Washington Redskins, Richie was fined $35,000 for three separate in-game incidents that included a personal foul for “repeated verbal abuse of a game official”, a major facemask penalty, and an illegal chop block.[12] In addition to the Sports Illustrated poll, Incognito was voted the NFL's dirtiest player in a Sporting News poll of 99 players.[13] The December 13, 2009, game was the fourth in three years in which Incognito drew two personal foul penalties in a game, and the second since Steve Spagnuolo became head coach; in the 2009 opener, Incognito was benched by his coach after his second 15-yard penalty, which negated gains by the Rams' offense.[14][15] These continued transgressions led to his release by the Rams on December 15, 2009. After being released, Incognito was fined $50,000 for the headbutt to the two Tennessee Titans players. A total of five players were fined from that game. [16] i hope he doesn't sign. on the bright side, he ran a 4.84 forty at the combine.
have already acquired pieces to compete & add depth. simply don't see another Orca in the Pod as a priority. obviously, there is a story behind this one. not trying to second guess the decision makers just find it a peculiar, if not unnessary move @ this time. having said that the trenches have always come first w/ Parcells & there is always something behind the scenes unknown, undisclosed, undiscussed (Incognito?)
Orcas aren't whales, they're dolphins. Big-*** dolphins, but still. Yes, I know they're called killer whales, but that is a misnomer.
well, this can only add to the multitude of outstanding depth that we supposedly have. now we're even more stacked!
So, let me get this straight, we are going to take on a guy that can't even make it with the Bills? And people are happy about it plus we pass on a WR that everyone including the FO knows we need! Sorry but WADR I'm begining to get concerned about the FA signings by Jeff and while his drafting seems quite good the FA signings, for the most part, are either injury prone and or bust. BTW if you can't already tell I'm not a happy camper about this signing IF it goes down!
we need depth. truth is, even if we sign this guy, he could still be cut during camp. his contract isn't etched in stone.
thats what i dont get. how did anyone see icognito actually arrive at the offices. wouldnt they have thought it was somebody else
Ok so this FO wants to stay away from head case, extremely talented play makers......but we're gonna give this mediocre, brainless menace a contract? Awesome.....now lets use our first 3 picks on situational players and just really blow this thing up.
