    John, I noticed in your picture that folks still have trees and shrubs next to their homes... kinna surprised me given the frequency of the fire threat.

    Those are in my neighborhood where they are house up against houses. They require if you have property or land behind your home that you have at least a 100 ft clearing for a fire break. Camp Pendleton has great fire breaks. A lot of people have ground cover that will help against fires, as it holds water, and is very moist rather then dry. How the fires start on our stucco homes is the ambers go under the eves of the house there for starting the wood of the house on fire. Aircraft were buzzing over the house at 7:00am this morning. :wink2:
