I know. It totally sucks that the Jets are playing for a 10-2 record and a chance to all but guarantee themselves a playoff spot on 12/6. The thought of being 9-3 has me up at nights.

 

If you were that ok with it you wouldn't be in here defending it. Just saying.

 

The bottom line is that as hard of a game it will be for the Jets, it will be even harder for Miami......in a game they will most likely absolutely have to win.

 

I love those games, especially when the opposition has a "eh, we have other games, whatever" attitude. I.E. IND and CIN vs NYJ last year, we will see when push comes to shove, who WANTS IT, NEEDS IT, really CARES for it more.

I would believe this also, a loss in NE, and that green locker room just may get a sphincter tightening.

 

You could say the same thing about any team in the NFL. And you don't any more recent than a 2-4 2009 finish ;)

 

I agree and I am interested to see how badly the Jets want it Monday night. Say what you want, but most fans would love to have their team playing under these same circumstances.

 

And if we blink first and its us.....tip of the hat.....but boy, if NYJ drop back to back to NE and MIA....hmmmmm....interesting. very interesting.

but first things first right....you have NE....we have CLE...lets see who takes care of the first order of business. No cart before the horse!

 

No doubt. Winning in NE would make life much easier for NY.

Why isnt Smith listed as #2 on PR depth chart??? Seems like per the list he would be the 4th or 5th option?

 

I don't know what the rest of the season holds for the Jets or if a Leonhard injury or a new kicker portend ill for them, but as I said in another thread, history has taught me to never underestimate the Jet's ability to implode at the end of any given season.

 

NFL Network says SEASON ENDING injury for Leonhard. Wow....tough loss.

 

Not really. Good player and sure tackler, poor in coverage.

IMO both he and Eric Smith are poor in coverage. Smith is worse.

Smith did have his best game against Cincy, but he is pretty much garbage....always out of position.

I did a break down of the Jets defense in my blog. I'm a fan of Rex Ryan's X's and O's so I've seen quite a bit of NYJ.

I don't know why they give Smith so much responsibility but I don't know why they trust him so much too. That secondary is not very good and have had their asses saved by Mike Pettine and Rex Ryan IMO.

 

I will check it out.

Revis an excellent corner and Cromartie is playing better than I expected. Wilson is a rookie and has a lot to learn. Poole has been disappointing. Leonhard was fair and steady. Smith blows.

I agree on Revis. I think what makes him superior to others at his position is his mirror skills. His ability to stop and start back up is off the charts as well.

Cromartie has played well, yes, but I also think that teams haven't attacked him the right way. I also think that the coaching staff has done a good job with him. I fail to understand why teams attack Cromartie vertically, his strength, and not with comeback routes, shallow crosses and digs, which I feel are his weaknesses because he does not tackle well when asked to and he is not quick out of his breaks.

Kyle Wilson is physical. I've been watching him since college. In college, he was a very physical cornerback with ball skills and an attitude. He wasn't the biggest but he wasn't afraid to hand fight. However, he was not consistent in run support IMO.I don't know why but he's not always there. He also had some issues going laterally at times IMO. However, he can play well because he's smart and physical. He's not afraid to punish players at the line, which I saw him do at the Senior Bowl with bigger guys like Danario Alexander. I've seen him jam the receiver at the line, lose leverage and get it back by cutting hard inside and disrupting the path of the ball to the receiver.
