A couple weeks too late for those that wanted him in Miami, but you have to wonder if Sparano would still be here if Jeff had been available? Or if Sparano had yet to get that contract extension? I think Fisher was good enough to keep a team right around 8-8, but not good enough to create a great team. Not happy with keeping Sparano either, but hoping that it works out this year. http://www.musiccitymiracles.com/
Hey, I checked to see if there was a thread on it. If this next season goes south for the Phins as many are fearing, it will be a "What If?" scenario. What if Fisher had been fired sooner and coached the Phins in 2011? Or hopefully we look back and think we dodged a bullet by not getting him. Time will tell.
Then we'd be a well coached team who never blows anyone out, and always plays not to lose when ahead. We'd be above .500 historically, but frustrated fans watching a team that plays like they're coached by Wanny, but with better talent... I personally am not a fan... I just read an article that crunch posted and it says it could be because he wanted to bring in his son. Yikes
Fisher wanted to hire his son as QC coach (or some BS title as such) and Adams said policy is no family members on staff. Flame on..............
fisher is over rated. been with that franchise since 1994 and has only had 6 winning seasons. i like jeff fisher and he is a good coach but hes not as good as people think
Fisher is a great coach actually. It just depends on your definition of what a head coach should do. His fatal flaw was, even when he had McNair, his teams have always been run first, and when you have guys like Eddie George and Chris Johnson you can do that. However his reluctance to address the QB situation (remember he didn't want Vince Young), and his hands being tied at every turn by an over the top owner eventually led to his demise. Sound like a familiar situation?
5 of the last 7 years he had 5 game losing skid, with the AFC's top seed he lost to a wildcard team. He's overrated and Bud Adams is cheap.
I was astonished to hear this. Fisher is a solid coach and a high classed man. I would have welcomed him in Miami if things worked out differently.
