I was just listening to WEEI in Boston, the Dale and Holly show and they had Mike Florio on. You have to know or listen to Dale and Holly to truely appreciate this, but they are homers to the max. Anways, they ask Florio about the State of the AFC East so to speak: moves, contract situations, etc etc. Then they started to get into who will win it, and of course Dale and Holly think the Pats; however Florio isnt really saying who he thinks, but it is clear he isnt a fan of the Jets, and takes a couple shots at them.
Holly goes "So you aren't one of the many just handing the Division over to the Jets?" (Like it is the Pats God given right to win the Division) Florio respondes, "No I am handing it over to the Dolphins" hahahah guys/gals I was flabbergasted, and have to admit very sweet. All they have done since Marino left is talk junk about Miami, about how they are the stepping stool yada yada......they ask why Miami, and Florio said Brandon Marshall pretty much is the reason, also said Nolan is going to do wonders for the defense, believes behind that OL, if RB stays healthy, Henne is going to break out this year..I just about soiled myself...
Lastly I know alot of people on here dont like Florio, and everybody can take this with a gran of salt, like I mostly will, however it was great, and a small victory for Miami Dolphins fans up in the northeast to hear New England Pats fans, and pundits taken aback...the chinks in the NE armor surely will be coming sooner rather than later....Thanks for listening guys/gals...:up:

Florio is coming more and more over to the Dolphins on this every day. He initially picked the Patriots but he admitted he was re-thinking it and choosing the Dolphins.
It's always boggled my mind when someone comes on here and tries to insist that Mike Florio hates the Miami Dolphins specifically. So untrue. He's very neutral.
But even more than picking Miami to go to the playoffs, to win the division over the Pats and Jets, to possibly contend for a Super Bowl, you should hear his radio interview with Sid Rosenberg when Sid wanted to lash out violently at this here site and the message board goers on it for their reaction to his whining about the Dolphins cancelling his Brandon Marshall interview. Florio told him to quit whinning, to man up and if he can't take criticism, go work at Wal-Mart. Sid kept trying to take shots at Dolphins fans and Florio kept insisting that the fans who said things on this board weren't idiots or anything like that, just passionate.Pagan, DOLPHAN1, DolfanJake and 13 others like this. -

Florio is like Sid's shrink , and he has said as much.
He balances Sid when he goes over the edge reaction wise, almost like a parent .
Mike Florio , doesn't have a hate on for Miami , he pretty much calls it as he sees it , now , he isn't always right and does fire bullets when he thinks it is warranted.
Saying that , he has and does praise Miami when that is also the case. -
Florio's like a dog with a bone when he starts harping on an issue he sees. That's his only problem.

Thats good to hear, anytime I hear any media members talking up the Dolphins I'm surprised. Too many people just constantly slurp the Patriots and what they used to be. I was visiting Boston about a month ago, I never got such a kick wearing my 18-1 shirt as I did that trip.

Not only is this very true about Florio, he also has been nothing more than an "internet shock-jock" when he started his site to gain readership. I think he's graduated past that pretty much although he does still like to put in his thumb and pull out a plumb by over analyzing many of the topics he writes about. He just seems to look for the worst in every story he writes.
You do make a very good point about his 'bones'.... -
Florio seems to have settled down to try and be a true sports journalist. He deserves some respect, and get some from me FWIW.

With all due respect man. We could just as easily be pointing out the mistakes that the people who are predicting good things from the Jets have made in their careers.
Bottom line is no one knows how the season will play out. I like our chances and so does he. I'm looking forward to the season but then again I always do lol.
