as always w/ the plebes it was a little complicated kind of... however, worth noting we are well thought of amongst the populous what really animates me about this season is the opinion our team has of itself. like a little unvarnished confidence going into the season
I like the confidence as well. I also like how the Jets are getting all the hype, leaving us to just glide on in and snatch the division out from Rex Ryan's TV-dinner tray
I wouldn't try snatching anything from Rex Ryan's TV-dinner tray. Good way to lose a couple fingers. Or hand. Or entire arm. Hell, he might just swallow you whole.
What I like about this Miami team is that it's so hard for everyone to predict where they are going to lie. You get a team like the Patriots, Packers, Cowboys, Vikings (w Favre), Lions, Buffalo, etc, and you see a very similar mindset in how people vote on their strength. But when it comes to us, the opinions range in a gambit from low to Deep Playoff/SB caliber. That's a great thing for motivation. There are no preconceived notions going in. It seems like this defensive upgrade has really made us a fresh team again, it feels a lot like it did going into that 10-5 season. Most of all, I'm excited about this defense for the first time in a while. It's hard to predict how it will go, and if nothing else the first couple weeks before there is a lot of film on Nolan's schemes, we'll hopefully see some of the best defensive play we've seen in a while.
We gotta win in the play-offs to get that far. Too confident perhaps? Maybe, maybe not. We did shake up the defense in a major way and added a top 3 receiving threat on offense. Not to mention the rocket dishing the ball out. And of course, that running game.... oh, that two-headed beast of a running game. With as many question marks as this Dolphin team has, there is always room for things to go wrong. Then again, there is also a chance of things going very very right. Time will tell. As far as the lofty predictions, meh. Just gotta take it one game at a time. First team on the menu: Buffalo.
I just think no one is paying attention to the 'Phins because we are in the same division as the Jets (hype machine is gonna burn out) and the Patriots (everyone thinks they're awesome because Tom Brady OMGWTFBBQ)...but remember how the Pats had their arse handed to 'em in the playoffs, and how The Robot chewed up their secondary last year. Our team may have limped in the final month, but they never quit. It would've been easy to quit given all the injuries our boys suffered through.
Only thing I thought they nailed in the article: Someone should post THAT at JetNation.com, see how disgusting and low life the replies are
im tired of all the jets hype they suck and will not get close to the playoffsN.E. will be a wild card and were GOING to have atleast a #2 seed
