just got my fanvision in the mail, and it says it only works on stadium grounds..any tech savvy people on here know if theres a way to "jailbreak" this like an iphone and use it at all times?

i doubt it.
and i assume you lease/borrow it instead of own/buy it. in that case they probably have plenty of measures to both prevent and penalize tampering. plus if it just came out, it will more then likely take a while for some one to crack it and share with others.
all that aside, why not just get a smart phone? it will probably do 10x's or more things then that will. hell, im sure some people will figure out how to pick up the signal and use it on a smart phone to imitate that thing while in the stadium. that may be more likely to happen before people cracking those fanvision viewers. -

and I have a smart phone, but i got this and i dont go to every home game so i thought i could have some fun with it -

I went on the fanvision site. It seems it has wifi capabilities but won't be available till later. My guess that means next offseason. But hopefully that means next season we can use it anywhere via wifi available

What I was told is that you get to keep it as long as you are a season ticket holder... If you do not renew your contract next year you will have to give it back.... If not they will send you a friendly Bill for the device.... I am still waiting for Fed Ex to come and drop mine of!

Made my own Fanvision unit using this old Virtual boy. Won't be able to project 256 colors, or even 2, but it'll do the trick come gameday :up:
