For those that hate Henning - here is what a lot of Jets fans think of Schottenheimer

I know Henning takes a ton of heat, but the Jets are 8-2, have the 11th ranked offense in terms of PPG and the majority of fans HATE Schottenheimer. Here is a little taste of what was being posted on alt.sports.football.pro.ny-jets after the Houston game:

Most of you by now have noticed that I don't believe in using swear
words in this NG.

On the other hand, I don't believe Shott should be allowed to call plays or be allowed to have his name. From now on, he is Sh*t to me.

It will be interesting to see how many pass plays in the first half were called on first down and how many runs and the yards per play.

If I noticed that every time Smith or Hartsock was in the game that it was a running play, do you really think the Texans' DC could not figure it out? Maybe that is why the runs (and the one pass to the back who took no forward movement) failed.

Did anyone hear the announcers saying the slants were open. I sure am glad we didn't run many until we got the touchdown. Of course if Sh*t was not the OC, instead of one TD, we might have had more.

Finally, on the last drive of the half, someone please splain to me the purpose of pass plays thrown short of ten yards against a rookie and Jason Allen at CB.

Sh*t is a moron. The only guy who gets me angrier is Eric Smith as a position player. The one Jet for whom I think rooting for an injury is justified.
I am so pissed at this game. Anyone still defending Sh*t is missing the point. Yes there are stupid penalities and dropped balls. But the play calling is so inept that it almost makes no odds. A fan should not be able to call plays based on personnel. An OC should not be calling runs almost every first down against the worst pass D in the league.

This fellow posted before he knew the Jets pulled the game out

Well, it is time for the Schit apologists to explain why Shonn Greene's fumble or the missed coverage on the open bomb to Anderson, or Folk's miss, or Woody's injury caused the loss. Or maybe someone will blame Rob Turner for brain damage.

The fact is that Sh*t called a game that left it to a single fumble by a player (on another first down run BTW), to cause a loss.

The Texans did not stop the Jets. Schit did. Only Sh*t continues to run on first down with both running backs averaging less than 3 ypc. Only Sh*t telegraphs plays with personnel. Only Sh*t, calls 2 first down passes (albeit short runs but at least getting more than 1-3 ypc) and then goes back to 1 or 2 yards and waste of downs.
The only thing worse than Sh*t is Eric Smith.

These types of posts go on ad nauseum. The point is that while you guys hate Henning and think Schottenheimer is some young genius, many Jets fans would give their right nut for Henning. I think it's comical. I believe the majority of it all comes down to player execution and not play calling. But I am in the minority. When I posted that blowing a 23-6 lead in the 4th quarter was NOT the offenses fault, I got jumped by these guys. In their mind, the Jets should score TD's on every possession.

Moral of the story - the grass is always greener on the other side.
